There is a huge difference between the person that builds the store and the person who shops at the store. The consumer goes to the store and wants what they want, and they want it now. The person that builds the store puts thought into where, how large, how much to spend, makes arrangements with suppliers, and a thousand other things. Lots of time, discipline, and process. We have both on the board here- it's not hard to tell who is who.

Same as above.
So fans have been shopping for going on 5yrs spending money and walking out of store with nothing…..in your mind how long should that continue?
And the sole reason is the OWNER refuses to spend money to stock the store with what the consumer requires. That’s it
Those stores go out of business

I will love the day when the St. Louis Cardinals have one goal……to WIN MLB games
For many years now it’s always been some other agenda.

Contracts Must Play
Finding Out If Youths Can Play
Showcasing Talent For Other Teams
Let me know if we ever get back to playing for Pennants and World Series.
I'm with you all the way. Most of these SOBs on here are getting all excited about trading proven players for Prospects, guys who never played MLB and might not be able to. It effing pizzes me off!
I know, right? What a stupid plan. Reminds me when the moron cubs traded Baez for that nobody PCA…
EC, I’m at a loss with your constant reference to the Cubs
Their payrolls during the 4 year run 2015-2018 were in the 3-6range in MLB and went higher in 2019 until ANOTHER REBUILD where they were bad
Then as they won again in 2025-‘26 their payrolls jumped to 225mil and up
So WTH does that have to do with the Current Cards situation??
You expect BDW to increase to a top 5 payroll and that’s when they start winning???? Great, start spending now>>>>into offseason>>>2027
every timeframe of Cubs winning was because they spent $$$$$, not creating a team of their own cheap prospects.
Because Baez for PCA was definitely a product of a large payroll.
Read my post again…
The Cubs payroll was 225mil last season and 233mil this season. Great….lets be like the Cubs!!!!

I'm certain I can not explain it to your satisfaction.

What did my post have to do w payroll
How doesn’t all your posts referencing the Cubs have to do with payroll.??? Assume you’re attempting to compare and emulate what they did???
The only time they won they had top 5 payroll. Not because they went cheap with a club full of youngsters. So what is your point?
They’ve been winning the last 2 years with 225mil and 233mil payrolls. Great….I’m in…..when does BDW start spending? They have a high$$$ manager.
When do we hire one of those??

“Dustin May is through five shutout on 70 pitches and Justin Bruihl is warming in the Cardinals bullpen. I asked Marmol this afternoon if there would be limits on his usage and the answer was "he's our starting pitcher."

Here's the real answer”
J. Jones
Anyone wonder why BP is toast…….
You love yourself some J. Jones
Certainly don’t see Goold posting anything remotely off the “script”. I don’t go looking for it…..usually pops up on my feed. Just as Goold would if he posts.

There shouldn’t be a need to go “off script” for this. Everyone knew the situation. Except apparently you and J. Jones.

You are like a broken record. Your schtick is as old as Shady’s.
Will make you a deal. When we get back to playing for a pennant or World Series, we will send you a note-you don’t have to watch or read this until then.

Then why the obtuse response from Marmol? If everyone knows then answer the question. “ YES, May is on a pitch count. “ if everyone knows then whats with FO/manager pretending otherwise. Cute little game…..for who??

It's not. Look up bullpen usage in MLB and tell us where the Cards are ..

Honestly who really cares? Why does the writer need to know if he’s on a pitch count or anything? He probably wasn’t even on a strict pitch count. That’s all he should say is that he’s the starting pitcher.
