Not a fan of malcontents, but...
I am getting a little tired of being sellers. Here's hoping that reverses in '27.

I’m probably one of those malcontents, I’ve been pretty hard on the DeWitts and not as endeared with Bloom as many on here are, as of yet!
I’m waiting to see what the team does when there is a labor agreement, whenever that may be.
Let’s see if they really do go for it, or if it will be same ole 1/2 ash attempts that we saw under Mo.

Many here have fallen so hard for the Rebuild Red Kool-Aid that they now are calling for trading our prime age MLB roster players that are actually good (such as Herrera) for young prospects. Making deals like that is how your turn your team into a never ending rebuilder like the Pirates and Reds.

Not a chance. Dewitt’s version of spending will be bullpen arms and bench players.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 18:21 pm I am getting a little tired of being sellers. Here's hoping that reverses in '27.![]()

I too am getting sick of this cycle, fortunately it should/better be done after this season
and
The Dewitt's better up that payroll BIG TIME so C. Bloom can be a buyer at the 2027 deadline and in free agency too once we have a new CBA!

I’m saving my criticism until the offseason. Certainly 2027 is potentially a dark cloud over all of baseball. But if we don’t start this offseason improving the actual team on the field I will be very disappointed. I want payroll to go up and some talent put on the field. I’m growing tired of trades for prospects buried in the minors.

Fast food desires for a rebuild. Doubt you will feel satisfied

You have a young catching pipeline that is ready now though and you're lacking very badly in pitching. He will give you the most value while having a younger talented replacement ready. Also they don't have to trade him so they can ask for a ransom and say take it or leave it. They have all the leverage.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 19:29 pmAh yes, like the Pirates...zoiks wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 19:08 pm Many here have fallen so hard for the Rebuild Red Kool-Aid that they now are calling for trading our prime age MLB roster players that are actually good (such as Herrera) for young prospects. A much better team could’ve been fielded this season by spending some $$$. And would have no negative impact on Bloom Farm

And that "actual" 2026 payroll (sans the traded players salaries) is closer to $55+MGoldfan wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 10:18 am2026 Cards payroll….94milrockondlouie wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 08:44 am+1000000000000000000000000000000000000hugeCardfan wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 18:21 pm I am getting a little tired of being sellers. (And will go down once May - Stankek - possibly even JoJo, Noot and RO'B too are dealt saving Dewitt two months salary)
This is all on BDWJr

Maybe we can raise our payroll to $352M to match the Mets?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 10:23 amStill haven’t figured out what a rebuild is huh?Goldfan wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 10:18 am2026 Cards payroll….94milrockondlouie wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 08:44 am+1000000000000000000000000000000000000hugeCardfan wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 18:21 pm I am getting a little tired of being sellers.
