Unless Crooks gets traded before the deadline, he should get the majority of starts after the deadline. Don't have to worry about winning games anymore, so great time to see what we have.

Seeing players in a non-competitive environment really doesn't show you what they have though does it?

It’s not non competitive for a young player trying to earn a spot. Especially for Crooks with Bernal nipping at his heals and top prospect Rainel not too far behind.

But Crooks can't win a game alone. It takes an entire team. Not to mention, if he can't live up to the promise then he needs to be moved out.

I know he's young, but both his defense and offense is not major league quality yet. With the amount of catching this franshise as, I would see what I can get for him.

You can't turn the corner if you can't get to the corner and
you can't get to the corner sitting on the bench one day and playing, maybe, the next day.
Too many young players brought up and jerked around with playing time.
If it's a rebuild let the youngsters play.
