There wouldn’t be one player on the team not happy to have RJ there.hornetfb52 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2026 21:32 pm I swear the people b****ing about this signing don’t watch hockey. Ask Robert Thomas or Dylan Holloway if they want a guy like RJ on their team, guarantee it’s a yes

So because they have a guy playing ten minutes every other night, they are now no longer pussys.TBone wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 12:54 pmThe Blues have been a team of [kittycats] since Maroon left.
Steen's determined to change it even if it starts with overkill. And Johnston's contract is small potatoes.
Look how often Ryan Reeves has been moved. They can trade him whenever they feel they no longer need him.
Reeves has moved so much because management first thinks they have that need, then realizes they don't. Another would be that the team he is on isn't a playoff team. Hmmm

Re: Ross Johnston
Blues added needed grit this offseason in Johnston, McTavish, McMichael (less Kyrou), and Carlo.
Not a bad start.
I hated the Johnston signing. Maybe he will be helpful like a Maroon. Im happy to be wrong.
Blues got some snarl in Tucker, Mailloux, Neighbours, Toropchenko, Walker, Sundqvist

Of those only LM and Neighbours should be on the roster. What has Torop done in that dept since he’s been here?BluesDom wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 11:46 am Blues added needed grit this offseason in Johnston, McTavish, McMichael (less Kyrou), and Carlo.

Why didn’t the Ducks keep RJ to protect their new $17M man?

Because they have Trouba and Marchment. And for dropping the gloves, I suppose they will rely on Zack Ostapchuk...who's contract is more than RJ.netboy65 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 12:56 pmOf those only LM and Neighbours should be on the roster. How many teams will he play against? Only played 62 games last year 43 year before that. Can’t protect guys if you’re scratched.

They still have a couple of players with a will to drop gloves and throw em.netboy65 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 12:56 pmOf those only LM and Neighbours should be on the roster. I think we missed Faksa.
I understand why Johnston is so massive-
Personal life
"Johnston was raised on his family's beef farm in Suffolk, Prince Edward Island. He has one older brother, Will, and a sister, Katherine.[14][15]"
He reminds me of the Actor Clint Walker.

I was thinking of the other $17M man, Celebrini.
And to answer your question about the Ducks. They signed AJ Greer and Jeff Malott to bring in toughness.
