Smart. I bet Thomas wishes he didn't get sign for so little during his prime years.

Holy Moly--Highest paid player in the league. Will be a Shark for 5 years after this one.
He is amazing and it seems he is the next one after Crosby and McDavid and MacKinnon.

I dont think Thomas would think that. He was paid well. Perhaps overpaid at the time.
Hes fine. Things change. No looking back.

Yep right now he looks to be the next super hero!

I was going to comment on RT's team focus and how great is with all the crazy signings going on...it's human nature to second guess but he's not showing any of that.

Pretty sure he was going to make whatever he wanted regardless of what Carlsson got paid.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence he’s getting paid slightly more to make him the highest paid player in the league.

The max contract Celebrini could have taken in 2027-2028 was $22.7 million per year (20% of cap). That was the starting point. Just mattered how much of a discount he wanted to give the Sharks.

Agreed. I think Carlsson woulda signed for $12-14m had Verbeek not been a di*k. That set the market now for all these other guys. Absent that ridiculous overpayment, Mack probably gets $15m in my opinion.

18.8 M a year. There is no such thing as a discount. He got top dollar. Highest paid player in the league. He gave no discount.

LOL yes it is bad that they couldn't get full term

Obviously not ideal for your #1 overall franchise superstar to reach free agency at 26
