Sell, please, sell … starting with the DimWitts

Post by Boiler Bird »

Ownership has forged the ultimate throw-back team for St. Louis … thrown all the way back to the sub-20,000 draws of the 70s.

At least those teams had legit stars. They also knew ya can’t please Cardinal fans with chicken salad made from trading for chicken chit. Grow ‘em on the farm, then lay an egg?

Baseball’s second-most successful franchise deserves ownership in step with team history, not a line of bread crumbs.

Your reference to the 70s is real. I started following the Cards as a kid in the 70s. 75-79 was not fun!! It was down right brutal. Gibson and Brock were near the end. They traded Reggie Smith away. Soon it was Simmons, Heidi Cruz, Jerry Morales, Tony Scott, Mumphrey, Reitz, Tyson, Brinkman, Kessinger etc. they were brutal!!

If you owned a profitable business that has a large and loyal…(to a fault) …customer base……with little competition…and a very soft media environment

Would you sell it?

Cards may not win again till Yadier Molina Jr. is ready for his debut. I hear he is a coming star like his daddy.

No disrespect intended - young DeWitt seems woefully lacking the acumen to lead a professional ball team. He is rather dull to that which he is called to lead! Amazingly dull for the role!

It's obvious this ownership doesn't care about winning. Like I said on the GDT I believe it's going to get ugly!

The more things change, the more they stay the same. When A-B owned the team, Gussie was actively in the team. ABIII, not at all - operating the brewery was his total focus; hence, the collapse in the 70's.

Follow that with the transition from BDW Jr. to BDWIII.A person raised by the Browns' owner followed by a self-appointed real estate developer.
