Libby handing Oli the ball.

Post by sikeston bulldog2 »

Good morning.

Was not a pleasant exchange. Did anyone else see the ball hand over.

Libby just handed ball snubly to Oli. No words. No Pat on back. No good game scenerio.

There’s a problem there. I think Libby knows something.

Could be frustration I guess. Seemed more.

Anyone?

Can we applaud Oli for not giving an atta boy while removing a starter in the 4th?

Were you watching. That’s the point. Libby obvious was frustrated. Bad body language. That’s all. No insinuation.

I suspect that Libby and the entire Cards pitching department has been working on getting him better results. When that doesn’t happen, it’s frustrating. That frustration can at times come out sideways.

He seemed flustered. Red faced. It was 95 ish there. Also, the Cubs got four easy singles hitting where second should be playing, but JJ was shaded up the middle.

Four. Easy outs and double play balls. Maybe the infield alignment factored in.

Yep. Playing in that heat is a tough assignment. Physically, mentally, and emotionally.

And he had just walked a batter, thus his removal. I’m thinking pitcher frustration, not so much with his performance, but with his uncertainty. I think that weighs heavily.

What Libby knows is what all of MLB and Cardinals fans have known most of the season.

He's NOT a MLB caliber starting pitcher! :x

If Libby is halfway intelligent he is aware of the growing sentiment that he should not be in the rotation... and likewise aware that last night's outing will only increase that sentiment.

That'd be enough to give me some bad body language. You?

He's from Phoenix. He ought to know how to play in the heat.

Hot steamy uncomfortable night.
You just finished pitching poorly.
His season to date has been less up and more down.
Based on all of that I wouldn’t expect his body language to be that great?
He knows he’s struggling and can read the tea leaves.
McGreevy/Pallante/Leahy are pitching well.
If May is not dealt he is a rotation lock.
Dobbins factors in. I suspect Mathews could be right around the corner.
I would expect him to be pressing.

Libby doesn’t have the IT factor. Some athletes never get IT!

Gorman/Noot are other examples.

It's either 6 man rotation time with Dobbins, or bullpen time for ole Libbers!

He made the decision easy. He goes to the bullpen and Dobbins is a starter. It was set up to get Dobbins on schedule to do Libby's next start. Believe I read that is Goold's Q&A today
