It's a stupid concept brought up by an idiot franchise.
I believe it was first said by the idiot Mozeliak.

I think he said “runway is a great example of ‘best practices’”! :D

That could be the scenario?
I don’t know if Baez is ready or not?
But when he does come up it should be to basically play every day.
Right now you have > Walker/Church/Noot. And they still want to look at Velasquez?
Baez time is coming. Patience.

I've been saying for some time Baez would indeed get the call once Noot was traded.

BUT

His recent struggles has changed my mind.

He may be better off staying at AAA until September call-ups, he even then.

If he's still having issues, then keep him down on the farm.

I have never seen him in person only on tape.
I still don’t get why some are so anxious to rush players?
Especially when they concede that we aren’t going anywhere?

Same here

Especially given the Cards issues, why would you want to bring a kid up (re: hitter) when the offense (sans Burly) is in a massive team slump and he's been in a long one too?

Not a given that any team will make a decent offer for Nootbaar. Outside of May, this deadline might be a bust for Bloom.

Yes, plus the starting the clock consideration, and to keep his rookie status for next year, I think the date is not to call him up till August 16th-ish.

It doesn’t matter.

Get what you can and move forward.

For example, last season many on here said “Gorman’s trade value is so low we might as well keep him”.

That worked out so well that he now will be non-tendered.

Especially if the Cards keep falling behind in the 3rd WC chase.

Correct
And you can only give a decent “look” to so many guys at a time.
Baez certainly figures to have a higher ceiling than Church/Torres/Velasquez/etc and his time is coming.
As much as I’m excited to see Baez let him progress at his own pace. As others have said he was in AA last year and before that he struggled.
LOL...the same people who want to push his call up are the SAME ones who will then (buzz) if he struggles.
Then complain that he was rushed too soon.

Low bar there, he does indeed have a higher upside than those three.

By recent reports he does need more time.

One thing I learned about C. Bloom when doing my homework on him was he's a firm believer in only calling kids up from the minors when he feels they have the maximum chance to succeed! No panic callups from the new POBO and I like that.

BTW, I'm getting tired of that "runway".

Sure hope 2027 brings a big increase in payroll and some quality major league players via FA & trades.

Crooks, Church, Torres and Velazquez are all struggling at the plate. Call-ups from AAA tend to go like that, for a while. Saggese struggled enough to get sent back down. I expect Josh B to struggle also. I just don't understand the urgency in calling him up.

To be fair BFM Crooks is really the only one who was expected to do something in MLB when he was drafted.

Church is an 11th round draft pick, Torres a career minor leaguer and "V" was nothing more than a flyer they took on him.

JAGesse isn't a major league caliber player.

Yours is a fair assessment, Rock. I just don't know why folks are expecting Josh B to be the answer to this lineup's deficiencies. We have lots of holes from 5-9. A kid that is currently struggling at AAA is not likely the answer to our offensive woes at the MLB level.
