Indeed. That'd be much better than the 100 degree summers, rainy & cool Springs, and chilly Fall nights.

I wonder about the logistics and engineering of adding a roof to BS3 at this point. But I would love that!

Fans need to know the games will be played and not suffer thru 95 degree heat

Ball might travel better too!

It would be a smart business move

I don’t need to see the (bleep) Arch or a high-rise during a game

Not happening, you basically have to rebuild the entire stadium structure. Would be amazing but not until the next stadium to build from the ground up

I was a proponent of a retractable roof when Busch 3
Was in the early discussion days. I saw first hand what guaranteeing home games despite weather issues could do for a fanbase.
I do know a few posters on the forum have been to Milwaukee and did big care for the design. That is something that can addressed by designers not a reason to completely nix the concept.
Yes, no sitting in hot sun, no rain delays , and no driving to the stadium only to have game postponed later. Fuel is not inexpensive plus time lost driving back and forth.
However, I learned another factor living about 1 hr 35 min north of the stadium along Lake Michigan shoreline.
It is this… when the year’s schedule came out and tix for single games went on sale, you were guaranteed that any date of dates you selected would have a game played.
Prior to that guys would pick a rivalry game only now and then driving the hour and a half and get rained out.
Taverns in Wis would promote getting busses to travel an hour or two with 59 regular bar patrons and we’re guaranteed a fun night at the ballpark. Nothing worse for group plans than to be rained out . Even my buddies who would go 4 in SUV would go yo more games knowing they were guaranteed to see baseball.
The only letdown was if they planned to tailgate out in the parking lots, they would foregoing grilling out in the rain le as bing thd brats and grill at home for next time.
The retractable roof overwhelmingly hit positive reviews especially from Brewer fans living a distance from Milwaukee.
In addition Wis has summer nippy weather in late March early April.

There is not a downside to retractable stadiums

I don't go to nearly as many games as I used to, as I no longer want to deal with the heat and rain. The only games I go to are when the weather is perfect, and I buy tickets on game day from StubHub. I'd likely be a season ticket holder if the stadium had a roof.

I remember pushing that idea and being told how dumb the idea was. It totally makes proper sense with the weather variance that happens here.

Well they could leave the roof open for the chilly fall nights. That’s football weather and good for watching most sports. But yeah the rest of the weather we could protect from.

Got to get back to a chilly Fall game. Might be a few years.

True. With the way they have started seasons earlier and summers are lasting longer, we might have to get to World Series for to actually be cold.

With as much money as the game generates I see no excuse for not having a retractable roof.

Stubhub is like being a season ticket holder for just the right amount of games - and you don't have to sit in section 148 EVERY (bleep) TIME!
