It says something that Crooks is viewed above Bernal. Maybe we can explore what that something is.

Crooks has more power . That said, MLB site does not list Crooks as a prospect anymore

that's a really bad list, and I'm really trying to be nice here. That list is extremely out of touch with the current farm system

I'll understand more if this is the reader's vote, but if this by Reis and Walton...then dear lord is this extremely bad.

IMO Jimmy Crooks should not be on any such list.
Not because he has "graduated" off the list but becuz he is/was highly overrated.

and not becuz of his catching. that's fine.
but he can't hit his way out of a wet paper bag.

when fan vote commences this fall on TCN, I hope everyone, or most everyone, puts Franklin 2nd. And Includes Odle, Kuhns and Condon in the Top 8. And if Doyle somehow manages to slip to 6th, I will not grimace once at an obscure reliever landing in the TCN fan vote Top 15

and I can't believe I'm even considering this, but Hjerpe is probably 2 seasons closer to the Majors than Doyle. Hjerpe has really taken to his return to pro ball post surgery.

He needs a go at the rotation, sometime in 2027...I'd pause the "reliever" noise surrounding him for now. That's probably his ultimate landing spot, but he completely shutdown a very HOT hitting NW Arkansas team this weekend.

So I'd rather see your top ten rankings, and I'd assume I'm not alone with that thought.

Of course it is by Reis and Walton. They rank every single prospect. In a week or so they will adjust for July; only having added the draft so far. I'm not as big at odds as you are.

I would imagine that July has appreciated Hjerpe a couple spots.

How would you change it?

Using that logic, Walker should have been off the list. They're feeling pretty good about sticking with him.

It would be nice if he earns that. He's pitched well but I can't imagine, at this point, that he's #2. I realize potential is highly prized but, if it were merely that, Clarke might be on the short list.

Post Draft...and my apologies for my Andrew Williamson bias, but I believe he'll be a starting major league corner outfielder, so I'll stick with my ranking

1. Rainiel Rodriguez, catcher
2. Tanner Franklin, RHP
3. Yhoiker Fajardo, RHP
4. Joshua Baez, OF
5. Trevor Condon, CF
6. Quinn Mathews, LHP
7. Tegan Kuhns, RHP
8. Liam Doyle, LHP
9. Jacob Odle, RHP
10. Andrew Williamson, OF
11. Brandon Clarke, LHP
12. Tai Peete, CF
13. Tekoah Roby, RHP (I wanted him in my Top 10, I think he'll get back there, unless his body is just completely broken with too many injuries. He's a GREAT, talented RHP who's probably ready for the Majors, if he can regain that pre-TJ form from 2025
14. Leo Bernal, catcher....I like him, but we're so stacked, that he falls to 14...other years, he's a Top 10 prospect, but again, we're so stacked up top right now
15. Cooper Hjerpe, LHP...he could be ready to move up the lists if he continues his recent performances

just missed... Mason Molina LHP, Yairo Padilla SS, Sebastian Dos Santos SS, Rocco Maniscalso SS, Jesus Baez SS/3B, Jurrangelo Cijntje RHP/LHP, Emmanuel Luna CF

Thank you.
The ETA's on a list last week showed Joshua Baez, Mathews and Cijintjie arriving still this year, with Doyle, Bernal and Clarke in 2027, and Rainiel and Franklin in 2028.
Was surprised to see Cijintjie with a 2026 ETA, same with Doyle with a 2027. Are they really that close to the show?
On the other hand, good luck in keeping Rainiel down on the farm till 2028, but my takes are more just box score reactionary vs. having much actual insight.

Ah, that darn patience needed thing with Clarke.

With Doyle, I could see a 2027 ETA IF they switched him to the BP, but don't think they'll be that quick on giving up his SP potential. As a continued SP prospect, I don't think he's ready next year. Hopefully I'm wrong with that.
