May and JoJo are the only 2 I'm sure about since teams have always/will continue to pay for pitching. Every other possibility depends on the return.

The ol "cash considerations" deals only excite the DeWitts.

Who do we have to replace is always the question. I think logical targets are JoJo 75% chance, May 90%, Nootbar 50% and O'brien 50%. Anyone else it would have to be a major shaking upheaval that I just don't see happening this year. I think they are all in on letting the players there now sink or swim and see who increased their worth over the course of the season and deal with it all in the off season prior to the lockout or after. They have Dobbins to replace May and I think eventually we see Liberatore back in the pen and Mathews in his spot. In the trades they can get back a reliever or two to deal with the loss of a JoJo and or Obrien. Nootbar can be replaced with any number of guys.

Agreed. Now that the team has collapsed, we pretty much just have the deadline to look forward to.

The consensus these days being all is known about players/prospects……utilize the BTV…..trades are fair swap of talent.
The elite and winning POBO’s should be better than that. They should have insight, intuition, feel to trade their capped out talent and return gems that the other team couldn’t see.
Example…..Mo trading Sandy to Marlins. A big win for the Marlins GM. Stole a Cy Young

One problem with your take. Its doubtful any teams will be trading this offseason. Not with a work stoppage looming. The current roster has had plenty of time to audition. We know who sinks and who swims.

Johnny bow ties was far from elite. That putz was a reactionary fly by the seat of his pants fool.

And i wouldn't wait until the offseason (even if it were going to be a normal offseason) anyway. Teams typically get more for their players at the deadline when other teams think they may have a shot at winning it all. I know it's a shorter and crazier time period to pull off a major trade, but if they get their ducks in a row, it is the optimal time to make that kind of trade

I’m not advocating for trading anyone except the expected. However, bloom has no real connections to anyone. If someone comes in with a good offer for Burly or Winn I could see him doing it. Walker and JJW are the only real likely untouchables. That said, I expect May, Romero and Stanek to go. Think they’ll hold onto ROB and Noot

There will be plenty of trades made, with teams trying to increase their chances at winning playoff games this year. The cubs and Brewers will definitely make trades for pitching, since they have had a lot of injuries to their staff.
