Are the Cardinals set for the future with Walker in RF, Winn at SS, JJ at second, Herrera at DH and Burly at 1B? They definitely need a LF, CF, C and third baseman. Four positions need an everyday starter. Some may not like the other five

Perfectly willing to move on from Herrera depending on return, obviously.

Well... hopefully Josh Baez(LF) and Bernal(C) are ready to step up next ST?
I still have hope for Church. Let’s see how he finishes 2026?

Yeah, defintely ready for Bernal. Crooks isn't ready at all. Can't hit and his defense isn't good enough to make up for it.

When you looked at the Prospect Rankings in the preseason the Catcher position had the best high end depth:
Crooks
Bernal
Rodriquez

Crooks was first and I agree that so far he doesn’t appear to have it.
Bernal is next and he seems to have the best balance between offense and defense.
September call up???
Rodriquez is a year or so away but he sounds like a potential dynamic bat.
Not saying he won’t catch but he could certainly switch positions.

If Bernal can handle catcher I hope they try and see if Rodriguez can play 3B. If he’s ok there that would solve some problems.

From what I have read it sounds like Rodriquez could be a position change candidate based on the potential of his bat?

We have/have had so much quantity depth at C, but are we going to get a championship caliber everyday starter out of that bunch?

Bernal has been in the Org 6 years. 6! Maybe its time we see what he can really do?

Crooks was rated fairly high. He’s getting his shot and has stunk so far.
Bernal could be getting his shot very soon???

As long as Pages is around how much of a shot will Marmol give Bernal?

Crooks has been bad but he’s never had a consistent string of starts.

I wish they would trade Pages even though he’s the only C who can throw out a runner.
