Encouraged by players but discouraged by the coaching

Post by Galatians221jb1 »

We are building something worth while on the field and at the plate. First, second, SS, RF and hopefully promising players at 3rd and CF. Pitching has promise in Pallante, Leahy and McG.

But seeing Winn continue to slide his anchor foot backwards when swinging and seeing so many first pitch grooved fastballs let go while getting behind in the count along with flamethrowers who have mediocre at best control seems to me to be a team crying for better coaching.

I’m somewhat encouraged by Bloom except for his evident trust in Kukla, Fran and Oli. This team is in need of experienced, proven hitting, pitching coaches and a proven manager. Can’t understand why Bloom puts up with some of this.

I believe, along with others on CT, that II’s thrift is a contributing factor in Oli’s current job.
Love the Kukla, Fran and Ollie reference. Loved them as a kid. Hell, I used to watch the test pattern before cartoons came on on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m.

Spot.
On.
So why does he?
He was ordered to do so by DeWitt.
That is the only logical conclusion.

Buffalo Bill and Clarabelle are enjoying a coke and a sandwich at Noe’s Bar & Grill.

Everyday the same people vehemently complain about the owner, the POBO, and the on field coaching staff

Yet they continue to follow the team ….

You’re obviously a Cubs fan. We’re not used to continual futility. Cardinals fans are spoiled and demanding.

Those of us raising questions or "complaining" aren't the lapdogs that other fans are.

You named 4 positions that are worthwhile at the plate. The other positions will need to be filled by those not currently on the roster.
3 decent starters. 2 of which people were wanting cut, traded or sent to the BP not too long ago.
The BP? Will anyone argue that the BP is any good? I doubt it.
So, we only need 5 more position players, a couple starting pitchers and a bullpen, yet it’s all the coaches fault.
The same people that want to blame the coaches will turn around and blame the players for sucking. Which is it? Maybe both?

Describe yourself as you wish

It just seems odd…at least to
me…..that people would take an interest in something/anything that makes them so unhappy

Of course it is both. Weak roster (thanks, Mo), and below-average manager who cannot seem to navigate through July.

Do you view everything in life like a 4 year old watching cartoons?
