Take it or leave it.’ One thing about metal fans, they are passionate about their music. Most metal fans come from a pretty hard life. Had the privilege of attending The Big 4 in Indio, CA in 2011 - last performance for Jeff Hanneman.

I was always a Metallica guy, but I don't hate Megadeth. Dave was pretty washed up in 2011, but that new album is pretty good. If they had Marty Friedman (who I saw twice here in STL) in the lineup, I'd be there for sure.

There's only one Marty, no doubt about that.

The guitarist they have today, Teemu Mantysaari, is ridiculous. He's worth seeing for sure if you're a fan of the band.

Please. He is a petulant whiny man child and his voice makes him think he sounds scary. I imagine you like him more because you share his insane beliefs and fears.

I only got to see Megadeth once, when they opened for Maiden in Raleigh a few years back. I always listened to other bands more because I thsought Dave was a dick, but they put on a helluva show and I went into a deep dive in their stuff after that and acquired a much deeper appreciation for them after that.

Regardless, I really like seeing these guys get their due after all these years. Dave has been through hell and back, most by his own doing, but he’s come through the other side clean as a whistle. Respect.

Each have their own tastes. Just cuz you can like lima beans, okra or Elton John will have no bearing on my tastes. Re: Mustaine so what? I like Megadeth, I like RATM and am nowhere near their lyrical beliefs... I like Metallica (earlier the better 4 me). I like Elvis, BB King, yada yada, yoda, the force is with me... who cares, I enjoy what I enjoy and your tastes and comments are like farts in the wind, and the wind cries mary.

I disagree. I saw a Megadeth In St Louis way back in 86 when they opened for Alice cooper. Saw them again at the Aragon Brawlroom in Chicago the late '80s. Forgot who they were with on that tour.

That said, David Mustaine's voice is one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life. I could tolerate them when I was young and pretty much liked anything that was over 200 beats per minute and certainly appreciate the guitar work of Chris Poland and Marty Friedman but that's about the extent of it. Metallica blows them away and Slayer blows both of those away
