If Bernal can handle catcher I hope they try and see if Rodriguez can play 3B. If he’s ok there that would solve some problems.Cusecards wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:41 pmYesStrummer Jones wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:35 pmYeah, defintely ready for Bernal. Crooks isn't ready at all. When you looked at the Prospect Rankings in the preseason the Catcher position had the best high end depth:
Crooks
Bernal
Rodriquez
Crooks was first and I agree that so far he doesn’t appear to have it.
Bernal is next and he seems to have the best balance between offense and defense.
September call up???
Rodriquez is a year or so away but he sounds like a potential dynamic bat.
Not saying he won’t catch but he could certainly switch positions.

How can any of them look the fans in the eyes?
Ownership goes "rebuild", slashes payroll, and raises ticket prices.
Front office continues to have guys like Svanson on a MLB roster.
Marmol seeing his team take another July nose dive.
Hitters look like they are clueless and swinging noodles.

I only defend him against the ridiculous constant second guessing. Always blaming the manager for every mishap is a lazy take on baseball. I get tired of reading the constant complaints. How about blaming the players who are the ones on the field? They are the ones playing. I could care a less if Marmol stays as manager. I think he is overall fine but nothing special. I have been on this forum since the LaRussa days and one constant is the blame placed on managers for every bad players play. The manager is rarely to blame for a loss or responsible for a win. They are responsible for managing the roster provided and guiding it through a grueling 162 game marathon. And we are not privy to the information they have in doing that.kscardsfan wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 18:22 pmWho has the Oli fetish? Melville tires me with his act. The offense was clearly the blame for the loss today but he has to come up with his Ollie blame on cue. It is just stupid.

Bernal has been in the Org 6 years. 6! Maybe its time we see what he can really do?
Crooks was rated fairly high. He’s getting his shot and has stunk so far.
Bernal could be getting his shot very soon???
Crooks has been bad but he’s never had a consistent string of starts.
I wish they would trade Pages even though he’s the only C who can throw out a runner.

The BP is not good.
Could use a couple starting pitchers.
CT posters blame the players daily. They want to cut players after every game. Some after every pitch. Yet everything is the mangers fault. But wait, there’s more. The same people will blame the owner for not spending money to replace the players that suck. Then….blame the manager for the losses.
I still watched the games. I still enjoy the games. I had no real expectation that this team was gonna go to the playoffs. I expected way more losses to be honest. So there’s no reason for me to be shocked when they lose games.

Herrera hits but can’t throw anybody out.
Neither is particularly good at blocking pitches.
Crooks hasn’t played enough to know one way or the other but so far has been bad.
Bernal may be the best of all but if Pages is still here he takes starts that should go to Bernal or Crooks.
It wouldn’t bother me a bit if they trade Herrera and Pages.
Promote Bernal and Crooks can back him up.
