I like John as a person, and they're certainly are worse announcers out there but if you listened to him for any length of time it became grating.

He was the last person in the building to know what was going on and his attempts to make the game or players in front of us interesting just fell flat. I used to mute him and listen to the radio.

*insert random player name*, a former *Canuck, King, Senator or whatever that had nothing to do with either team on the ice* did some random play. Why would I care that some player who used to be on the Kraken when the game is between the Blues and Panthers?

There were a number of grating things that took awhile to get to you and again certainly worse out there but I'm glad be moved on. He needs someone beside him to make the game interesting so he didn't have to. That was Pang.

I'm willing to give Kerbs and co a couple more seasons to see if they improve before shipping them back to radio.

Saw little if any improvement from them over the course of the season as if tone deaf.

I don't expect much different this year.

Actually enjoyed some of the tnt games over them.

I’m sure the sigh was for beating this dead horse again

I'm in the minority with you. He's boring and dull. I don't get the blind love affair. If his last name was anything else, he'd just be another guy everyone quickly forgets about.
He announces the game with fervor like his dad did. Pang was a big mouth who wouldn't shut up. Tried to dominate the airtime. Im tired of announcing teams that think that they are the entertainment. Call the game and shut up.
+1. Pang, Rivers and now Vitale - all motor mouths who add very little. I'm ok with Kerbs but prefer JK

O think Kelly got four years with the Kings.

I'd love to have him back and think outside of what the organization done to him. He'd want to be here.
He had some bad. Like saying 'and, a lot. But he was easily top three ever in the Lou. For the Blues.
The haters are just big fans of Kenny oh baby Wilson guy.

JK was over-rated. It's the familiar connection that people are longing for.

Dan Kelly Sr. was the [shirt]. Glad I lived back then to hear him Gus Kyle.
at this point I would take Noel Picard

The Blues aren't bringing Kelly back. Not sure the point of the thread here. Certainly people are entitled to discuss what they want to discuss but Kelly isn't coming back

If it helps, yes Kelly should be with the Blues.

I think Vitale is the problem.
How you can have someone with obvious ADD doing color is beyond me.
I really like Kerb’s a lot…..I think he’d be better if Vitale wasn’t there AND they weren’t simulcasting TV and radio. You can’t do both effectively. You end up doing neither justice.

The simulcast doesn't work. I enjoyed John Kelly over the years but am not a fan of Kerbs and Joey! Call the game boys! Watching the games on the NHL Center Ice pkg, I got to the point where I was hoping that the opponent's announcers would be doing the game.

I guess I am the only one that remembers Wilson and Micheletti/Affleck working TV and radio at the same time for years.

I always thought it was advantageous to the listener to know where the puck is and who has it?

What are some of you folks listening for?
