I would not. And, feeling that way, if he had any value as an inclusion on a trade, I would do that.

Good question a lot would depend on who all has to be added to the 40 man and who the cards pick up but i personally probably would go with the calculated gamble of not protecting him like they did with blaze unless he finishes super strong at Memphis then you may protect him but if he struggles the rest of the year no. Even if someone did pick him I think he would be returned at the end of the spring training or returned at some point during the year but just my opinion

Or, perhaps I should say there is little evidence to suggest any achieved upside can be sustained if it was dependent on peak physical maturity. There are one or two actuarial studies out there on this topic. I don't know if that type of work has penetrated into baseball analytics.

I would not. And, feeling that way, if he had any value as an inclusion on a trade, I would do that.

My thoughts too. Get something for him if you can, otherwise let him slide. If another teams takes him, so be it.

1.) Last ditch effort to see if he sink or swim.
2.) A way to boost his value at the TD.

They've used age curves for contracts for quite a while now. But I thought peak baseball age was ~28

The current 40 man has a bit of dead weight and / or trade bait if you ask me (Gorman, Scott, Saggese, Prieto, Velazquez, Torres, Pages). The pitching side has plenty of cuts as well

So they could easily find room if they want

Not sure if he is worth it you all would know more than I, but in regards to the dead weight comment, if he does show any promise total agreed about dumping one of the mentioned players in () or pitching.

Theres a tab that has options or rule 5 status. Ones needing to be added are either saying dec 26 or r5 if they already cleared rule 5 this year but would need to again next year.

I really dont see that many important names that have to be added this offseason other than quinn mathews and jesus baez.

Entering the year it maybe looked like ixan henderson would need to be protected at years end following his 2025 but he instead was injured all year this season so we dont have to worry about that.
