If I had to put money on it, I'm saying Franklin claims a rotation spot before Doyle. We'll see.

what will hold Franklin back will be the Cards intention of going slow with him. Bloom said the first 2 years will be very slow as they try to increase his work load...expect 1 stop seasons the first 2 years.

Doyle could figure everything out next season and press the issue...I don't think he will, but he could. Something might just click for him. I think he'll initially struggle at AAA with the thread difference in the ball....but he might just make it happen.

it'll be close, imo. 2028 will interesting...they'll either be starting together in Memphis the entire year, or Doyle will get the call midseason

I kind of like what they are doing with Mautz. It seems like they feel comfortable with what they have found with Leahy, McGreevy amd Pallante this year, so building a potentially great bullpen to back them that can cover multiple innings makes sense.
