He did have a down year last season but prior to that was very solid.
Just because he’s not a 1 or 2 starter doesn’t mean he’s not a keeper!

Yea I think some of it may him learning to adjust to a full season of starting in the majors

He's the definition of average. And that's not a bad thing. Last year was rough, and I think he got a lot of negative overreaction last year. But people also forget that he came up as a starter, then they sacrificed developing him for putting him in the bullpen because he threw hard.

But you should hope that they can crank guys like Pallante out like this in the future.

That was the same comment I had about him. Same stuff he just had better command of all his pitches. Maybe he will be one of those guys who gets incrementally better each year into his mid 30's.

+1 he worked in the offseason on being able to throw the curve for strikes more and he also developed an”kick-change”

Definitely seems he’s figured something out. Mcgreevy and Leahy are partially putting up numbers with smoke and mirrors and regression seems inevitable. With Pallante the underlying stats say it’s actually sustainable.

Pallante took his lumps last season and it looks like he may benefitted from it.

I certainly didn't expect this kind of performance. His durability and ability to take the ball every 5th day has a ton of value.

Definitely a fixture in next season's rotation.
