Who would you trade. 10 days to deadline.
So who offered the major league roster would you trade? I’ll keep it to major league roster only.
My simple answer is anybody on the roster is available. For the right deal nobody is untouchable.
In reality I’d say JJ and Walker shouldn’t be traded. Everyone else is up for grabs.
The only way I would say a player is untouchable is if he was the best player in Major league baseball that couldn’t be replaced with a better talent.

I'd trade anyone not named JJ and Jordan
I'd focus on the expiring contracts first...listen to offers on everyone else...and I'd need to be knocked out of my socks to make those trades for the likes of Winn, Burley, Herrera, Pallante, Leahy, McGreevy, Liberatore, etc

Also...I think teams would pay a pretty penny for a lot of payroll control left with Leahy

I think some people would like to see Libatore cut. Lolcraviduce wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:24 pm I'd trade anyone not named JJ and Jordan

Kind of sums it up. Have to listen on all of them not named Walker or JJW.craviduce wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:24 pm I'd trade anyone not named JJ and Jordan

it's going to be interesting to see what they do with Liberatore in the offseason...especially if the labor issue is solved and we have a normal offseasonCardinals1964 wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:28 pmI think some people would like to see Libatore cut. I don't care where they put Leahy...I'm not trying to Yap on a trade either...I just think what he can do as a starter and long reliever, would make for a very nice return at the deadline...a trade for him by a contender would far outweigh his actual BTV valueMIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:31 pmYappers no longer seem to want to put him back in the pen. Re: Who would you trade. 10 days to deadline.
I agree with that although I personally they should keep unless an offer blows them away. If it wasn’t for JJ and winns game changing defense up the middle the cardinals would be below .500 right now. I think trade anyone else but keep those three. If you upgrade third and Bernal is a decent offensive catcher you can live with winns offense I think he will break out offensively alsocraviduce wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:24 pm I'd trade anyone not named JJ and Jordan

Pretty much anybody on the MLB roster not named JJ or Jordan.
I would definitely be open to moving Herrera for a good return. His hit tool is good, but he has no defensive position. In his career there have been 101 stolen bases while he is catching, 6 caught stealing. Yikes, yikes and double yikes.
Burly if the offer is good. By the time the window is really open, he will have reached free agency.
Probably keep Winn, McGreevey and Pallente unless overwhelmed.
This team really needs to either get hotter than Hades over the next week, or lose a lot. 8 and 2 or 2 and 8. Get out of the buy/sell conundrum one way or the other.

At some point, very specific decisions must be made as to who to keep and who to deal.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:21 pm So who offered the major league roster would you trade? I’ll keep it to major league roster only.

"Everyone except 2 people" isn't really a plan.
Further, short-term and long-term exigencies must be constantly evaluated and weighed against each other.
So, what is the correct answer for the deadline?
Happy to provide that.
Bruihl, Hence, O' Brien, Stanek, Fernandez are on the 40 man and any two could be moved.
Any one of May, Pallante, Leahy, and Liberatore could be moved - or 2 from the group if a starting pitcher was acquired before the deadline.
It would be a huge gift to either player if Gorman or Scott were to be traded.
Mootbaar should have been traded 4 years ago when I was the only person on the planet who understood that and it would be gross incompetence on the part of Bloom to fail to do so now.
Any two from the Fermin, Torres, Valazquez, and Saggese scrum could fit into one package or another.
The catcher situation, which the team has somehow managed to turn into a mess rather than an asset, is best addressed in the off-season.
That is the correct approach to the OP's question regarding the 40-man roster.
If requested, I can provide the answer concerning those not on the 40 man.

This conundrum exists only in the minds of some fans. Management is not conflicted.Cardinalss4Ever wrote: ↑24 Jul 2026 18:57 pm Pretty much anybody on the MLB roster not named JJ or Jordan.

Unlike last season where you had high priced vets to move I don’t see an urgency to move anyone unless maybe May.
It always depends on the return.
