I thought the best schedule setup was the period from the 1969 expansion through the 1993 season. Each league had two divisions, East and West, with each division consisting of six teams. No interleague play. You played 18 games vs each of your five division opponents…9 home and 9 road…and 12 games each vs the 6 teams in the other division, 6 home and 6 road.

Yes. 1-1. After another winnable game. Now division rivals- Reds and Cubs.

My favorite type of baseball - rivalry.

Big game tonight, hoping for a good game from May for several reasons. Rivalries have been lessoned with interleague play in my opinion.

Yes. I’m not a fan of inter league. Yes rivalry has been diminished. Remember when we played each rivalry 19?games a year. 76 games against the division.

That’s how you settle things.

Heck, I remember when we used to ay each team 22 times in an eight-team league. No stupid interleague, no DH, just baseball.

3-7 team is falling apart. Honestly trying to find 3 wins is hard. 1 each vs Reds, Cubs, and Jays maybe? I could see cubs sweeping though

Our first losing block was six. We went 29-21 first five blocks. We are 23-28 last five blocks.

We have six, count them six, 4 game losing streaks. That’s hard to believe with a decent staff. Six!

One 6 game winning streak. That’s our longest.

Absolutely agree! It had great rivalries and riveting baseball.

Especially against the NY Pondscum. (That’s the Mets for those of you not yet born in the mid ‘80’s)

1-2. And winnable games. One noted issue is we have been losing winnable games. It’s not like we get blown out early. Staff has held for five innings in those five innings, a run scorer.

The pen gave up three last night. Let me remind you of our pen.

I haven’t done update in awhile; however we were trending this way reference the pen- giving up a run scoring inning per game; giving up two run scoring innings every other game; every other game we give up a multi run inning.

That’s tough on tied or one run games late.

Well thank you. It’s not much. Just a few notes daily. What I’ve noticed is no long losing streak-four games done 4/5 times. One winning streak six games.

The blocks track the lowest points of season. The 3-7 blocks are our worst.

Believe it or not what I see is a big run say 8 games.
