Any speculation on what happens with him?
Flyers still sitting here with 14MM in space. Do they make a run at Fantilli? For all we know theyve already tried and haven't gotten him to sign yet.
Anyone else with the cap space that would possibly make a move on him?
A quick glance shows that without a trade of any significance, the Penguins, Flyers, Flames, Canucks, Kraken, Blue Jackets and Red Wings could move on Fantilli at around 14MM or so
He ain't going to Calgary I bet. Vancouver wouldn't do it. He ain't going to Seattle. He likely ain't going to Detroit. That leaves two possibilities for an offer sheet the way I see it.

Re: Fantilli
Columbus has Coyle and Monohan, two older centers. They have the cap room to sign Fantilli. He has two 50 pt seasons and wants big money. I love that we have the Mc Boys for what it would cost for one Fantilli. Gautier wants Carlsson money also, I bet he is below Bedard, but crazy money.
This is why I want to lock up Snuggy. I have seen enough to make him 8 x $8 Mil right now. That is under Thomas and can he make more later sure, but security for 8 years is also a big plus an a team that is trending upward.

Their goalie is in arbitration and they might not have the cap to match Fantilli if a team locks him into an offer sheet after their goalie signs a contractVentomiglia wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 20:05 pm Columbus has Coyle and Monohan, two older centers. This shows both goalies are signed for this season. I agree this is a new game and you need to watch your back with offer sheets. DA gets a lot of blame on this board. He jump started this offer sheet frenzy as that's what good GM's do. I commend him for the job he did getting us a cup and turning this older roster over and with talent and I would take playoffs ever year for a team that is growing over a losing mentality to get these idiotic top picks that take decades to win for the team. The Blues window is opining.

Greaves was just signed to a new deal today.
Sillinger is still an RFA.

Re: Fantilli
Unless I’m reading it wrong, they have a little over $19m in cap space and only Sillinger and Fantilli to sign. Sillinger is a player that has never scored over 33 points. Can’t see him getting paid very well. They have plenty to match whatever is thrown at Fantilli if that were to happen. Guessing he signs soon.

Re: Fantilli
By the numbers Fantilli and Carlsson have been pretty similar (3 seasons, 200ish games, 60ish goals, 140ish points each). That has to have the kid salivating at what he could get from an offer sheet if there is one out there.
His cap hit should probably more realistically come in around 12M, at least if you're using Bedard @15 as a truer barometer.
Columbus has plenty of room to match anything that comes his way, and certainly they will prioritize making sure they have Fantilli locked up before Sillinger if it comes to that. Sillinger won't command a huge deal anyway. He's a decent but unspectacular Bottom 6 winger as of now.
