Re: kane back in Chicago
I believe he's the only Red Wing is the history of the NHL to get an extended standing ovation in the United Center -
https://twitter.com/i/status/1761896224825762236
Patrick Kane initially made one lap around the neutral zone, thanking Blackhawks fans for their deafening ovation.
Then the ovation continued long enough to necessitate a second lap. And then long enough to necessitate a third lap. For two minutes that felt more like two hours, the season-high crowd of 21,141 at the United Center continuously roared in appreciation.
"[It was] just so special,” Kane said. “You don’t expect anything less from the Blackhawks with the tribute. didn’t know if I did enough laps or too many laps. The guys kept telling me, ‘Go for another one; go for another one.’ Some of them wanted to see four.”

You have to congratulation Kane, and Chicago for this move.
It is too much money. That said.....THG put Connor Bedard in the bottom 5 of his 1st round draft picks this year. Where Chicago is at Bedard needs a mentor. Kane has brought out the best in a lot of young players in Chicago. If he can return Bedard to being honestly spoken of (without "but the..." comments) in discussion with Celebrini that would be of immeasurable value for Chicago.

Re: kane back in Chicago
Well, I thought he might consider Buffalo too. He does already have 3 Cups and obviously a person cannot have too many and their chances could be better sooner than Chicago's, but he is a lock to be considered as one of the best ever in the history of the game. Buffalo needs a Center probably more than anything else...and he can be a bigger contributor to Chicago and realize a lot of self-actualization by helping to mold all of that young talent into the upper tier of the league by the time it is up. Is it too much pay? How do you quantify the value of the intangibles?
I think it's a good contract for both sides. Forget that I am foremost a Blues Fan, I don't hate other teams, I just want to beat them...I think it's great for Hockey.

I’ve always liked Kaner. No hate for him whatsoever, we got to witness one of the all time greats for 20 years…can’t ask for more than that. Hard to believe he was just really starting to get talked about in the main stream as a potential franchise player around this time 20 years ago.

3 MORE years until the 'time is right'? Good lord!BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 09:29 amMoney isn't an issue for Wirtz especially after not spending anywhere close to the cap limit for the past four seasons. He's pot committed and I'm sure they'll be spending to the limit 3 years from now when the time is right.

Re: kane back in Chicago
He's 37, averaged 54 points the last three years, and made about $3.25 mil per season putting up those numbers.
Obviously he's still a big name and his stats the last few seasons are still very respectable, but I can't see contending teams lining up to give him double the salary for that kind of production. Buffalo, for example, only has around 5 mil in cap space.
I think this deal shows the reunion was more important to Chicago and the money was more important to Kane.
Good for both of them, I guess.

LMFAO doing better than me.... well i am not a GM but i Know i wouldnt have traded the 4th over all for Bowen Byram.... and thats the consensus around the league. I see i hit a nerve... Bet you cant wait to have the days where you can come here and brag how great CHI is and how bad STL is. You are a freaking joke sir. Bedard will be gone in 5 years. then you can tank for like 8 years again lmfaoBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 12:16 pmHe's doing better than you considering he didn't waste his life and brain being addicted to hard drugs.
