It's hilarious how our resident idiot throws out our #16 pick in Jiricek as someone who hasn't even made it to the NHL yet whenever all he has to do is check to see that there's only 2 other D drafted after him in the entire draft that has made it yet. Anyone that actually knows hockey knows that defensemen take longer to make it yet THAT is what he's hanging his dunce hat on now. ASOGG definitely knows his hockey!!!!netboy65 wrote: ↑20 Jul 2026 13:54 pmYou’re awfully quick to put a final grade on the drafts. I've been harping about the poor results from the 2023, 2024 drafts for over a year now. Let's talk a close look at what the Blues accomplished during their "GREAT RE-WHATEVER".
2023 Rating: F
Blues draft choices have amassed only 35 points--DESPITE THE FACT THAT BLUES ROSTER POSITIONS ARE WIDE OPEN AND WAITING FOR THEM. Management and the fans are dying to be re-whatevered.
Across the other NHL teams, 2023 prospects have scored approximately 1000 points.
There is no more need to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, Sports Fans. Army acquired new Centers in 2026 because 2023 was a complete BUST.

2024 Rating: D
Even worse, Blues draft choices have amassed ZERO points. Jiricek has not even made it to the AHL yet, and is still 5000 Big Macs away from even getting a shot at the NHL.
Across the other NHL teams, 2024 prospects have scored approximately 250 points.

So now that you see the NHL Draft results from 2023 and 2024, do you still expect anything different from 2026?!!!

And note that many teams have no roster spot OPEN for a rookie. There could be at least a few more D that would flourish if given an opportunity. In the case of the Blues, the roster spot has a red carpet laid out to it for Jiricek.
Meanwhile, Jiricek is not even playing in the minors yet! The longer that it takes for a prospect to make the NHL, the less of an impact they will bring.
Mailloux was acquired because Jiricek is nothing special. It was Army's first prospect SWITCHEROO, ala MacTavish/Dvorsky.

Oh well, back to business...
Anybody care to give their grade of the Blues offseason? Feeling at all brave today?

I'll point out the obvious. The MODs are not the problem.
The person best positioned to cure ASOGG is Blues Management. I have been 1000% spot on with my criticisms over 3 years. No one can say that I have been wrong with anything that I have said, and I have made many predictions.
So come on, Blues. Why are we stuck at ZERO MPH? Most importantly, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE ASOGG WRONG? Please do it for everybody's sake, especially ASOGG..

I highly recommend running straight at the troll. That is the only way to "save Hermione and the forum".DawgDad wrote: ↑21 Jul 2026 12:54 pm"We" do nothing of the sort, or do you work for the PD?dr0zombie wrote: ↑21 Jul 2026 12:40 pmI do wonder about all the "don't feed the troll" requests when we just let the troll run loose in the dungeons.Backesdraft wrote: ↑20 Jul 2026 20:26 pm The mods really do need to do something about this. Just remember. You have to be very very brave to do so, maybe even more brave than the troll.

Re: Grading the Blues Offseason
Dvorsky is 10th in games played from the 2023 draft class and overall the entire class has played 122 games overall and two of them did not turn 21 until after the season ended.
Jiricek played six AHL playoff games after his junior team got eliminated from the playoffs. By the elimination game he was on the top pair at 19 years old in the third round of the playoffs in the second best league in the world. He was the voted the best defenseman in the under 2026 world junior championship, and he averaged over 25 minutes a game for the Bulldogs in the playoffs in 15 post season games. Yah, he sucks

Solid B+. Would liked to have seen more size on top 6 wing, but not complaining with what was available. We bought low on McTavish and we're going to like his game, his compete and we now have C depth while DVO get's to work on his game from the 3rd line, where he can play his game. I like bringing in Ross Johnson for our youthful squad, and I'm okay with McMichael as I think he's got a high motor and costs less than Kyrou along with the 1st rd. pick (Dagenais) & the prospect Gastrin projecting as a middle 6 C. Finally, Carlo as a 3rd pairing big RHD is a solid addition as well. Well thought out additions, nothing over the top, solid B+.
As for the OP, don't click his posts if they bother you. His views are off the charts, so you keep clicking his posts, why would he quit? I mean, who's worse, the OP, or those who keep him around clicking on his posts while complaining?

Grading the Blues Offseason:
A++++
DONE!
Good to GO!
Get those season tickets
Average NHL rebuild: 5–7 years
Shortest retool: 2–3 years
Colorado Avalanche (3 years)
2017: Worst season in modern NHL history (48 points)
2018–2019: Draft core emerges (MacKinnon, Rantanen, Makar)
2020: Legit contender, President’s Trophy level team
Why it’s the fastest:
They rebuilt through elite drafting and hit on every major pick. No shortcuts.
_____________________
When the Blues’ Rebuild Actually Started
The rebuild began the moment the Blues traded:
Ryan O’Reilly (Feb 2023)
Vladimir Tarasenko (Feb 2023)
Ivan Barbashev (Feb 2023)
Those three moves signaled a full teardown of the Cup core.
Start date: February 2023
Today: July 2026
Elapsed: ~2.5 years
Projected Blues Points (2026–27 Season)
Projection: 88–94 points
This puts them right on the playoff bubble — slightly better than last year’s 86 points, but not yet a top‑tier contender.
No Elite Scoring Center Yet
Until they land a true 1C, they cap out around 90–95 points.

Re: Grading the Blues Offseason
Given that the Blues have no chance at elite drafting (so the Colorado Avalanche rebuild has no resemblance to the Blues), I would say that the Blues are on course for a 50-year rebuild.earp wrote: ↑22 Jul 2026 08:00 am Grading the Blues Offseason:
