I never said that EVERY team with TOP5 drafted players will win a Cup.

What I have said:
1) TOP5 elite players bring fans TRUE EXCITEMENT. The NHL Draft brings meaningful excitement to almost every team EXCEPT St Louis. Every fan buying a ticket walks into the rink KNOWING that they get to see a potential HOF and elite player. St Louis has no potential HOFers, and won't have for 10 more years at least. St Louis fans get hot dogs, while all other franchises get steak -- FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS.

2) St Louis is building a NEW CORE almost exclusively from THE DISCARD PILE of other teams. The NHL Draft is virtually meaningless to the Blues. What franchise has WON USING THAT APPROACH?!!!!! None.
Yep, Toronto is thrilled with all the TRUE EXCITEMENT they've experienced. They want to keep losing every year to get more exciting prospects and never win anything.

St Louis:
-Won a Stanley Cup in 2019 using the last TOP5 selected pick that they have had in almost 20 years ago.
-Rebuilding the roster from the DISCARD PILE of other franchises.
-Very little uplift from the NHL Draft for many years. No excitement for almost 20 years.
-No HOFers in recent history. No HOFers in future.
-Boring hockey Oct-Jan. Losing Draft position Feb-Mar.
-Fans go to every game to watch HOFers in the other uniform.
-Fans get to see how good the other team's discard pile is.

Toronto:
-Rebuilding the roster using the NHL Draft--as has been done by the best teams in history.
-Fans go to every game to watch elite NHL skaters and HOFers in their jersey every year, every game.
-Using the NHL Draft as was intended. Fans get very exciting 2026 offseason.

People - please. It’s a troll. It’s not a fan. Please stop replying. It doesn’t want to engage in a conversation. It wants to (bleep) you off. Stop letting it. Put it on ignore and let it die.

Do what you want. I don't care in the least.

My approach...
Nobody can stop my product from selling. As always, good product always sells/wins. Replies do me no good, or no harm.

All that said...
I recommend freedom. Don't let anybody else tell you what to do.

This isn't by accident.

The most loyal of dogs come from being good to them after taking them from where they are not wanted.
It's been a thing for years. And Steen got learned from the master of a locker room loyal dog.

Your opinion is pure garbage. Pure garbage. Steen was an integral part of a decade of highly competitive Blues hockey and the Cup team. Casting your post as pure garbage.

Sorry..."troll" is a label that gets assigned to someone with a controversial opinion. If you disagree, post respectfully your opinion and quit the name calling.

Yep.

When franchises derail, and are going nowhere, they LOOK FOR AN ANSWER AND A NEW PATH.

Not the Blues. We are going with the Rookie GM, sitting underneath Army's right cheek, using the same Lieutenants and Captains, AND NOT QUESTIONING ANYTHING.

Funny
another of my, 'by itself opinion, you called 'me being argumentative. I guess with myself, as nothing you added, actually added anything.

Do you ever post a thought about blues hockey.
Always making assumptions always calling names, always junk. nothing but junk.

So true.
But you will repeat what you heard on a pod cast or got from a sportsnews article.
Try watching hockey and then making a opinion of what you noticed, saw, thought. It's hard and others who don't really have their own opinion on what they have saw will criticize. But it worth it. Not jumping on another's dick, is good.

I'll take a couple more Holloways and Brobergs off the discard pile anytime.

Since you completely ignored this I'll repost this brilliance from zamadoo
Only four roster players from FLA's Cup teams were drafted by FLA, and one of them was Spencer Knight, the goalie taken 13th OA who is now a Blackhawk, meaning only 3 remain, and FLA just added even more from the discard pile.

Vegas had only two players they drafted on their Cup team, and their entire team was made of actual discards from the expansion draft. Everything they've done has been trades and signings.

Carolina had 6 and 7 of their own draftees in each of their two Cups. One of those players (Nikishin) is being discarded. "The rest of that legendary 2006 core—including captain Rod Brind'Amour, franchise icon Glen Wesley, and forward Justin Williams—were all acquired via trades."

Buffalo discarded ROR and Eichel so they could win the Cup as 1Cs for other teams, while BUF continues to draft and discard. Also of note is that they discarded some players for ROR who went on to win the Cup in COL. Congrats to them for finally making it through a round of the playoffs for the first time in 19 years, using the "build from within model" as they have in the past to win playoff games, but no Cup, despite having 11, 14, and 12 drafted players on each of their 3 most recent playoff runs (2006, 2007, 2026).

COL had 5 of their own drafted players for their recent Cup win. 6 if you count Byram, who was injured and missed the playoff run. They discarded 3 of those 6.

The Blues had 13 drafted players on their 2019 roster, which added key pieces to win it all, before they discarded several of those players. They currently have 8 of their own draft picks on the current roster, with a stocked pipeline. They stole two top players from EDM, who has now only 4 of their own drafted players on their current roster. Have acquired a solid 2C (like Schenn). Have #1C in player they drafted. Have #3C in player they drafted (who could someday be #1C). and we still have Sunny 8)

So last year around this time, the muppet was crying about the bolduc trade day after day. Now it pivots to picking on Dvorsky going into this year for some reason. What a miserable [fork].
