Dvorsky?
The Blues just brought in a highly-touted Center that is 2 years older than Dvorsky.
The Blues just used their highest draft pick to bring in a Center.
The Blues just used their 2nd highest draft pick to bring in a Center.
The Blues opinion of Dvorsky is now officially out of the closet, and it isn't pretty.
Anybody know Dvorsky's take on these happenings?

Re: Dvorsky?
Its good to have centers! He has a world class shot. Honestly his shot is amazing. He can rip it. He can unleash from the right side. So worst case scenario he plays right wing. Best case he keeps progressing and this is his second year in NHL. The boy is 20 and still growing! He should take huge steps. I dont doubt him at all. He has impressed his whole life. Let the boys compete. Let the best man win. There will be a spot for him no matter what. This center/wing problem is not unique--it is an issue that happens on all teams. Some players bounce between wing and center. McMichael for example. McTavish. Suter. etc etc.
Its good to have players to trade. Like Chelsea or the Dodgers--they are flooded with prospects. If they dont stick they get traded.
Not a bad problem to have. Not to mention the drafted centers arent ready they will take a while to develop. We shall see. Too early to make predictions or to react to a future problem or non problem.
Dobber Prospects--
Observations
March 2026 – Dalibor Dvorsky has continued to show why he was considered one of the most NHL-ready forwards in his draft class. This season, the 20-year-old has spent the majority of the year in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues, recording 15 points in 55 games. One of the first things that stands out when watching him live is his shot. His one-timer from the right faceoff circle is particularly dangerous, coming off his stick with impressive velocity and making him a constant scoring threat whenever he finds space in the offensive zone.
Beyond the shot, Dvorsky’s hockey sense is equally impressive. He navigates through traffic well, finds soft areas in coverage, and consistently identifies passing lanes that allow him to create scoring chances for teammates. At 6-1 and 207 pounds, he also uses his frame effectively, protecting the puck along the boards and winning physical battles while maintaining possession.
Even in games where he isn’t filling the scoresheet, his presence on the ice is noticeable. Dvorsky regularly makes subtle plays that force opposing defenses to adjust, whether it’s creating space for teammates or extending offensive-zone time with strong puck control. His ability to read the play and anticipate developing situations keeps him involved in the flow of the game. While his skating still has room for improvement, his offensive instincts and puck skills help offset that limitation. For a player his age, establishing himself at the NHL level this quickly is impressive. Dvorsky has largely lived up to the expectations that surrounded him as a highly regarded prospect, showing the skill, hockey sense, and confidence needed to contribute at the next level.
From a fantasy perspective, he projects as a player who could develop into a reliable offensive contributor if he eventually secures consistent top-six minutes and power-play usage. Kenny Kaminsky
June 2025 – One of just a handful of 19-year-olds in the AHL, Dvorsky acquitted himself well, posting about three points for every four games and being named to the AHL’s Top Prospects team. He was called up late in the season for a couple of games, but just to get some exposure as he only saw limited ice time (9:25). He had two shots on goal and won three of six faceoffs, seeing a bit of time on the second PP unit. Now 20, he’ll need another full season in the AHL before making the full-time jump, but he’s on track for top six with a chance of being a first-liner. – Dobber

Likely, he remembers that that last time they fixated on overfilling the larder with capable centers-like this- they all got their names engraved on the Stanley Cup.

Re: Dvorsky?
He sure does have crazy, often very emotional opinions.
Who give a (bleep) what Dvorsky thinks. He is a paid NHL player who is 20 years old. In sports the best man wins. Teams are always looking for the next best thing. Everyone is replaceable. If Dvorsky is legit he will have a nice long career. If he's redundant or is average or not needed. He will be traded. All this stuff works itself out. Its pro sports. Not unique to any team.

Aw man. He got me. Usually I can tell which topics are started by schmuck boy and I don’t even bother clicking into them. I’m going to have to be aware moving forward.

Re: Dvorsky?
It means the Blues want to be competitive this season and they feel it’s too risky to put 2nd line center duties on a 21 year old who’s played 70 nhl games. They probably also don’t want to mess up his development by putting too much pressure on him before he’s able to handle it.
A guy picked 10th overall can’t really be compared to a generational talent like Celebrini or guys that were taken first overall. Maybe one day you’ll figure out the how the nhl draft, your singular obsession, actually works.

Hey, looky here. You decided once again that first thing this morning, you’d get online and prove you’re a zero-integrity liar. Well done, most people wouldn’t want to prove this day after day. But you always say what the hell.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑16 Jul 2026 08:46 am The Blues just brought in a highly-touted Center that is 2 years older than Dvorsky.

Re: Dvorsky?
The Blues are actually breaking new ground here after their recent discovery that more C depth gives them a better chance at success. I suspect the rest of the league will soon follow suit.

Re: Dvorsky?
This is a great point, and was something I thought about after the draft trade - how fortunate we were that the O'Reilly trade worked out AFTER they already added Bozak, giving them possibly redundant depth at C that they might not have pursued had the O'Reilly trade gone down earlier.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2026 08:51 amNo, but I don't think he's as stupid as you present yourself to be.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑16 Jul 2026 08:46 am Meow meow meow meow

It's great to have so many options at C.
But please quit quoting the kitty, as it forces the rest of us to pay him some attention. Or at least edit liberally

Re: Dvorsky?
Yeah, Dvorsky was outscored by a bunch of dudes picked ahead of him, and a couple of guys who developed quicker (since we all know development is both uniform and linear). Cool story.
Now, tell us about Bedard's 20M shoulders...

Do you agree with Dobber or something?
Bedard had minor shoulder surgery or else he would be out 7-9 months minimum - he's only 15 weeks out today.

Age 20:
DD 71 12 9 21 -6
Thomas 66 10 32 42 9
Nothing really to shrug at, of course Thomas had the luxury of being on a 94 pt team, #1 in the Central. Dalibor had much weaker line mates. Id say we will know a lot more about Dalibor over the next two seasons, hes still only 21 yrs old no rational Blues fan is making any brash determinations yet.

Re: Dvorsky?
His point stands. The only player in that graphic drafted after Dvorsky that’s scored significantly more is Benson and he jumped to the nhl right away. The rest of the guys are all within 10 or so points of Dvorsky and that’s just not significant.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑16 Jul 2026 10:11 amDo you agree with Dobber or something?
