I would be in favor of staying pat at that time.

Why not?

Because multiple free agents will walk and the club is left with nothing
JoJo Romero, Lars Nootbaar, Dustin May, and Ryne Stanek

1st of all the Cardinals could sign them to deals,
2nd, just keeping them for the rest of the year holds value,
3rd, there is no guarantee any trade will bring great return, and
4th who knows how the new CBA will change the MLB future.

Correct
I don’t get all of the talk about trading multiple players??
Unlike last season with the vets and big $$ contracts(Arenado, WC, Gray) I don’t see the urgency to move anyone except maybe May? Being on a mutual option could result in them moving him.
Noot has one more year of control.
Stanek won’t bring you back much.
JoJO maybe?
Riley has multiple years of control.

That one year of control makes Noot worth more this year than next. Makes since to deal May and Noot for good value. I would keep the relievers unless you are able to get something good for Jo Jo or Riley.

I believe Bloom will listen on anybody, but a few, but won’t deal guys like O’Brien unless over valued by another team.
May and Noot are the two guys most likely to go. Then JoJo. They have replacements for those guys. Maybe not as good, but who knows, maybe better than them.

2….what is the value

3……yes….there is nothing certain……but is there no faith in bloom?

4……yes…who knows …so move these guys while they have some value

Agree with Bulldog 8-6 would be a solid 14 game stretch.

9-5, just in view of probable trades and our sometimes playing down to the level of our competition.

Most likely drop a series to a bad team. 2 losses there. A couple of won series. I’ll go with 5 losses 9 wins.

I think I'm with 45s on this one.
Especially how the extra years of control should provide more value in return. If you wait until the end of the year, JoJo and May are gone with zip in return.
Also - have faith in Bloom. If there's no value coming back, he won't make the deal.

And guys -- these aren't superstars we're talking about, so don't have huge expectations.

Welp, is 9 in a row too much to ask? So much for the easy road trip to start this post-ASB stretch.

I think a lot of people forget this team is nothing more than average at best.

After trading May, Romero and whoever else at the deadline
They're going to be less than average.

The MLB Trade Deadline is Monday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. ET. A bit later than usual.

Hopefully Romero can get off the IL and show his health at the last minute. Same for Urias

Trade Candidates:
Dustin May - SP: needs 2 good starts in a row to raise value!
Lars Nootbar - LH utility OF with cool name
Riley O'Brien - NL saves leader
JoJo Romero - LH reliever with high leverage experience
Ryne Stanek - experienced reliever
Justin Bruihl - Cards hottest LH reliever
Ramon Urias - experienced bench bat
Jose Fermin - super utility guy
Nelson Velazquez - big bench power against LHP

Well, here we are. 4-10. You got the numbers right anyway. Lost 3 of 4 to the D-Backs, same to the Cubbies, 2 of 3 to the mighty Reds and Angels.

And I don't get why many on CT keep screaming get pitching, pitching, pitching. The hitting ain't any better. Scored 4 whole runs in 3 games vs. the Angels. 10 in 4 games vs. the Cubbies.
