The future offer sheet for Sennecke will be epic…

Wow. I really thought they might walk away.
Verbeek looks pretty silly with all that egg on his face.
Probably could have signed him like 8x10 per reports.
Now he's stuck with him for 5x18. What an ish show

Yup. Colossal fail on Verbeek's part. The kid wanted to sign, and would have done it at a reasonable amount.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2026 11:41 am Wow. I really thought they might walk away.

Young players would now be dumb to sign extensions before they're offer sheet eligible. The quickly rising cap means many teams each offseason will be sending offer sheets to players like Carlsson or even Snuggerud. I believe Snuggerud is offer sheet eligible 2 offseasons from now. The Blues will need to pay him more than Thomas to get him to sign an extension before he can use offer sheets to negotiate his contract amount higher.

By matching the Ducks demonstrated their negotiating limits weren't really the limits. This will [rightly] encourage tougher player negotiations and more offer sheets. Who knows, it might impact the Blues. How much are Snuggerud and Hofer worth?
The humor in this is the Ducks are now paying Carlsson what TWO established veteran top-6 players should make.

Cutter Gauthier is the one that is probably giving the finger to Daniel Brière right now..Gauthier is not going to get the bigger payday he was expecting now. But you never know Verbeek may give him what he wants.

Well, at least not in Anaheim.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑09 Jul 2026 12:05 pm Cutter Gauthier is the one that is probably giving the finger to Daniel Brière right now..Gauthier is not going to get the bigger payday he was expecting now. But you never know Verbeek may give him what he wants.

He would have to put up 90 this year for that.
Come on man.
I'm not saying that isn't possible. But to just say that like it's fact is not quite realistic.

I'm looking forward to people here stating over and over that no player can be paid more than Thomas. 3rd line centers will soon be paid more than Thomas.

It would be interesting to know how the guys making $1 million to $4 million feel about these huge deals. They know the other guys are special but that is a lot of wage disparity.

He can pop in 25-30 goals and simply wait for an offer sheet. Maybe we get lucky and get him for $12-13 mil but if you are Snuggerud why wouldn’t you just wait and see. It’s the Wild Wild West out there right now. Our $8 mil per year player is over in St. LouisUMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2026 12:18 pmHe would have to put up 90 this year for that.

This. I don't think he gets as high as 15, but if I'm Steen I gotta figure the price of a long-term extension for Snuggerud is at least 10M, assuming he remains on track to become a perennial 30-goal guy. $12-13 if he were a center.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑09 Jul 2026 12:23 pmHe can pop in 25-30 goals and simply wait for an offer sheet.
