That Thomas deal sets the bar really well for us. Yes, it will certainly get passed in the coming years, but what a point of leverage forbthe Blues to point to in any negotiation to extend their RFAs.

I also expect they are not done. The team is forward heavy. At the least some thinning needs to happen to allow for more youth to come in. They get McMichael signed to a fair deal and this off season looks really good to me. I like the fact that everyone and their brother doesnt have active trade protection. Gives the FO a lot of options when trying to upgrade for quality. We fill multiple categories and probably match what a lot of teams are looking for.

I believe the $10.2 is correct. For easy math, if McM signs for $7.2m then we would have 24 players, so let’s say they send Dube to the AHL. We would have roughly $3.9m in cap space, before needing to tap into Krug’s $6.5m. I’m guessing we don’t spend that excess so that they can accrue cap space during the season by not having to use the LTIR.

I think the difference is that CapWages is showing Finley, Dube and Lindstein as non-roster (AHL), while PuckPedia has them all on the NHL roster.

I agree they are probably still looking at moves and not done, but if this is the opening night roster, the youth will get their opportunities when injuries inevitably happen.

It was also interesting when he was talking about the contracts he even said Buchnevich is a good contract. That's probably the stance of most GM's as well for anyone who thinks his contract is unmovable.
