Yeah, I found myself saying a year ago "The Thunderbirds signed him, not the Blues, no big deal." And now what I thought was unthinkable a year ago has happened. After how hard the Blues tried to make Lucic work here, there's a pattern starting to emerge.

I absolutely agree with that but we should see if he can prove it/keep doing it.bluetunehead wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 18:38 pm Speaking of faceoffs, a lot of folks are really set on Finley being great on the dot because of a roughly 20 game sample size where he was a handful of wins above 50%.
He still has a lot to prove.

So there is a ton of outrage over this. Im wondering at what point can Dube move on from this? Is he condemned for life for mistakes he made at 18 or so? As i read it he received oral and slapped the victims (donkey) pretty hard. Pretty foul behaviour for sure my guess is there is alcohol for both parties, there are amped up guys, there is a lady probably also made some questionable decisions all around an ugly situation occured.the miracle wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 11:08 amYeah, I found myself saying a year ago "The Thunderbirds signed him, not the Blues, no big deal." If Steen and co. got to know Dube and Dube has expressed himself over this situation to the franchise isnt there a time when Dube can move on from this event?
Im thinking when the dust settles Dube is waived down to Springfield or another team takes a chance on him? I just dont really understand all the outrage in the typical places.

You need to explain this further. What pattern are you talking about? You seem to be insinuating that the Blues seek out players that have been accused of abusing women on purpose. But that’s such a dumb premise that it can’t be what you mean, right?the miracle wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 11:08 amYeah, I found myself saying a year ago "The Thunderbirds signed him, not the Blues, no big deal." Harry - always respect your opinion. I'd actually say its not really my place to determine how long he should be condemned for. If the young lady involved that night came forward and said "I harbor no ill will towards anyone that was present or how those people treated me as a human being - we were just adults having fun", then it'd be a non-issue for me.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 13:12 pmSo there is a ton of outrage over this. No, I'm not at all saying the Blues seek these players out. If that was the case, I would stop posting here and never watch another minute of Blues content or spend another dollar on it.The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 13:41 pmYou need to explain this further. What I am saying is that there have been 3 instances (Mailloux, Dube, Lucic) in the past 12 months of the Blues looking past what could best be described as VERY questionable choices by players. While I don't expect every player on the Blues to be a boy scout, some median level appreciation for the physical and emotional well being of other human beings isn't, in my opinion, too much to ask for of the players that I cheer for.

That’s fair. I respect that opinion. I do think people that have made mistakes need to have a way to reintegrate into society though. Mailloux in particular took accountability and showed remorse.the miracle wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 14:21 pmNo, I'm not at all saying the Blues seek these players out. How is any of the fan sentiment preventing him from "moving on"? He's still playing hockey. He still signed an NHL contract. He still has a chance to win a job.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026 13:12 pmSo there is a ton of outrage over this. Im wondering at what point can Dube move on from this? He's "moving on" just fine.
If he received oral from a visibly impaired woman, I don't care how "amped up" or drunk he was, he assumed the risk of being thought of as a rapist by those of us who believe the law too often fails to ensure justice for sexual assault victims.
He admitted to receiving oral.
He admitted she was impaired.
He did *not* actually admit to spanking her bottom (though there are corroborating witnesses claiming he did and he hasn't denied it).
At a minimum, given the publicity, I want him to state what he did, admit it was wrong, admit why it was wrong, and then make amends in the community. At a minimum. If he's genuinely sorry, he should have no problem coming clean about what he did, and it could be educational for young boys to hear him say why it was wrong. We all make mistakes and are entitled to grace - but IMHO that requires genuine remorse in the form of trying to turn it into something positive. Will he give young boys guidance that they should refrain from getting girls drunk? Or will boys use him as an example of how to have "harmless fun"?
Until he makes public amends, he's a sex offender as far as I'm concerned and I'm disappointed in my hockey team for giving him a platform to just "move on" without making amends.

Re: Dube signs one year contract…
To me I just don’t understand the Blues wanting to take the negative PR for a bottom six forward who we have a ton of. Although the players were acquitted (partially due to their group texts not being admissible in court), some of the details that came up were pretty damning.
https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/ho ... s-evidence
Per the above story Howden texted Raddysh the below:
The alleged slap was the subject of the legal arguments earlier in the day and the subject of a text message Howden sent to teammate Taylor Raddysh a week after the hotel encounter. Howden wrote, “Dude, I’m so happy I left with all the sh– went down. Duber (Dube) was smacking that girl’s a- so hard, it looked like it hurt so bad.”
Also it was reported that the woman was crying at one point and after she calmed down they filmed a video of her saying she consented to doing things with the group. All very unusual and at bare minimum really calls into question whether the players felt like what they were doing was ok.
I am and will continue to be a Blues fan for life, but I just don’t get taking on this kind of guy.

I hope Berggren is having a good offseason. Dube might steal that 3rd line RW from him…
It’s gonna be a fun preseason!
