MN, can Russians be drafted into any of the CHL leagues or are they limited to WHL? Like players in MO go to the OHL.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑30 Jun 2026 13:10 pm Proskurin was drafted by the Victoria Royals in the CHL Import Draft today. That’s very good news IMO. It’s not a guarantee that’s where he’s going to play next season but I’d say it’s pretty likely. His jr team in Russia isn’t even connected to a KHL or VHL team so he had no obvious path upward there. The WHL would be an excellent spot for him to develop. And would get him over here to N.A. as well.

I noticed Lars Steiner made the list on surprises. So, I’ll add it to his dedicated thread.Max Lee: My favourite pick of the night has to be goaltender Vladimir Proskurin to St. Louis at pick 123. We have a whole film room breaking down why we love his game, but in short, he's arguably the best athlete in the class with attention to detail evident in his technique, an unshakable mental fortitude, and the ability to steal a win. After the pick, the Blues called him a "student of the game" too. As my personal third-ranked goalie, there wasn't a higher upside player of any position available at that pick.
