All I know is, as excited as everyone was for the 3 first rounders 3 years ago, we have two bottom 6 forwards and a possible 3rd pairing D out of that draft. Not great so far.

Hofer, Binnington?

Looks better than last season if they go with those 12 forwards and them 6 D, and of course if they can stay healthy.

Right now:

Holloway Thomas Snugg
Neighbours McT Buch
McMichael Dvorksy Stenberg
Johnston Suter Toropchenko/Berggren

Brobie Mailloux
Lindstein Parayko
Fowler Carlo

Hofer

Im pretty excited, id like to see Finley and Walker waived down

This line up has some skaters, some better bottom 6, some more grind, looks good to me. Much harder to play against, there are hitters on every line

Lol, kinda early to judge right? you may want to allow Stenberg and Lindstein to play more that 30 NHL gp. Lindstein was great in a small sample, top 4 NHL caliber already. Stenberg is going to come on this season i and expect the same from Dalibor

Looks good to me. This teams bigger and faster than last years team. That whole 2nd line has something to prove. There's like half a dozen guys on this team that got something to prove. I actually like our D now. I hope that pans out. I think Monty will get em going early. This teams gonna have a whole different look and feel.

All he has to do is convince the players that training camp is some sort of world tournament and that game 1 is the first game of the stretch run and they'll be just fine.

Is it odd that McMichael has yet to sign a new deal? Or just a case of it not being urgent, so they aren’t rushing it?

I'm starting to wonder about it. I wonder if they want to potentially trade him for someone like Tippett.

And yet Lindstein (#29) has the 18th highest Point Shares and Otto Stenberg (#25) has the 24th highest Point Shares.

That Dvorsky though… total failure. He was selected 19th Overall and only has the 17th highest Point Shares. What garbage! That’s even factoring in the 10th Most Games from that class and 14th Most Points. Total chump.

Come on Dalibor, you have the 11th most Goals from that draft class. Do something!

It's pretty hard to project this forward group for me, because there are a lot of battles that i think have to play out before the start of the season for roster spots, and only a few games to get good looks. Still a chance for a move to be made to get some talent outbound and trim it up some before the season, but also some chances for some guys to be sent outbound.

Holloway - Thomas - Snuggs
McMichael - McTavish - Buchnevich
Neighbours - Dvorsky - Berggren/Dube
X - Suter - X, where X would be a combo of Finley, Johnston, Toropchenko, and Walker.

I think the numbers game now is not very kind to Stenberg, but not impossible. I'd not be shocked to see some of our common 4th line get moved or waived.

Defense is pretty straightforward, i think they'll run back the top 4 and slide Carlo in. Seems like Tucker is the 7th defensemen, will be interested to see if we pick up an additional depth defensemen with Hunter Skinner gone, not sure they want Rosen as the next man up (but maybe i'm wrong).

Dvo was 10th overall not 19th. I don’t think anyone has said he’s a failure but shouldn’t he be making more of an impact by now? This year will tell. If he breaks out great! If not, then maybe whispers of the f word start floating

It was largely meant to be dramatized sarcasm. He had a couple of 10 Game Stretches where he vanished without a point.

One was early on (late Nov-early December). The other was after the Olympics. I think that’s somewhat expected from a rookie.

Also, thanks for correcting the drafted slot. I must have fat-fingered w/the 9 when typing out 10. My phone keyboard is sus and I was on too much of a roll to notice.

I don't think its odd because I really don't think this is a player we targeted as much as it is the best value/return we could salvage from a team Kyrou was willing to go to.

So you think they are just taking their time to negotiate and maybe even letting him go to arbitration? Seemed they were really excited about him until they made the McTavish trade. I don’t know, I’m probably just overthinking it.

I just think its not an ideal situation and I think he probably wants more than we want to give him. I really don't know how they will handle that.

What I mean is I don't think its a situation where the Blues thought OK this is the guy we want and we want to invest in him long term. I think it was more like Kyrou has a NTC and this is the best offer from teams he will accept a trade to.
