That 4th line should be tough to play against...period!
And to clarify HighStick, I absolutely also agree with your statement about needing more toughness and an aggressive heavyweight...I don't want you to think I was pinging on your post.
Ross Johnston can play hockey he isnt Reed Low or Tony Twist Cronin of course had him in ANA, the connection continues. Hes going to play he's likely to apart of a rotation with guys like Berggren, Stenberg based on whos going well and the match up but this is still just 7/1, gotta feeling that Steen is going to make a deal or two. Id think these guys are in jeopardy

Torop/Walker
Suter

they wont keep all three of these guys
I'd keep Toro and Suter over Walker. I like Walker and appreciate what he brings but it's just time to move in a different direction.
I agree, but if I'm Monty, I'd have a heart to heart with Torpo in training camp. Get back to being a physical presence vs just skating fast all over, or it might be you that sits in the pressbox more often than not. Maybe it's just me, but he seems like he didn't take the hits in front of him last year. And no, I'm not advocating for him or anyone else to chase hits, but when you're a 4th line player with his size, if the hit is front of you, take it.

Long answer to the point that I think this signing lights a fire under our 4th line fodder of players.

Fixed that for ya
If this was 1986 you’d have a point, but it’s not.
A guy that is not afraid to stand up for his teammates on the 4th line. Not sure what’s not to like.
It's a move the Blues made. For some, that's all it takes.
Yep. Some just can’t help but bi**h
This^ Some of these people would complain about saliva on a BJ.
It’s gross. Move was made to appease the fanbase toughness, sandpaper all that (bleep). He can’t actually play and to sign to a 3 yr deal? Just awful

I bet you sit down to pee
Jealous? I’m sure your boyfriend made it so you can never sit down again.

When we looked back at the end of the season most people agreed the bottom 6 was not good enough esp the 4th line. 4th line needs to be a momentum changer, ideally one that can score a little too. Blues were shuffling guys trying to find something i think they have been focused on getting better from the bottom up, good signs so far

Totally agree. It's time for Toro to get at it and get more physical. I've been waiting for that since we had Kostin. This 4th line is big and can skate and should be physical. Hopefully they can cause some trouble.

Exactly, he’s a 4th line winger brought in so Neighbours doesn’t have to drop the gloves 9 or 10 times. Plus, Walker was brutal last year. I like him, but there was a stretch of games last year where his dumb penalties cost the Blues 5 or 6 points.

Every team needs one player like this as long as it doesn't hurt the team while they're on the ice. Jake, Holloway, Carbo when he comes up and even McTavish I'm sure the team doesn't want those guys having to fight any heavy weights. It sounds like they want the team playing aggressive and forechecking and taking the puck to the net so a player like Johnston will be appreciated by the team.

Ya gotta believe our Blues have/are having what they need elsewhere on the team (Ido). This is a comfort move that eliminates most of the thinking ahead about junk like Nazem Kadri and her ilk.

Our collection of 3rd and 4th line left-handed wings is quite impressive. Are we trying to corner the market to increase their trade value?

100% of the players Steen has added during his tenure have been 4th line LWs. Tells me all I need to know about his plans for the team.

Just something else to consider. This guy was teammates with McTavish last year and would have played with our new assistant coach Cronin the two years before that.

A lot of posters have a fetish for zero-skill goons and are happy the more of them the Blues collect....

Losing Scheen and shifting Tucker to the 7th dman (depending on how LM plays in my opinion) made the need for someone who can drop the gloves even greater then it was and it was already a major need for this team.

Two different guys… gonna follow my other team the Caps. They’re actually trying to win a cup not appease a bunch of knuckle dragging fans who want the 70s NHL back. No way they’re a playoff team with this bunch.

Have fun watching another 17-goal campaign by the one and only Jordan Kyrou.

For Christ sakes.
