Re: Blues sign Ross Johnston
Now trade Torop, release Finley, and keep Walker around as the 13th forward.

This.Whatashame wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 11:42 am He’s not changing the world but he’s something this team didn’t have and IMO a definite need. Tired of watching and quite frankly it’s dangerous watching the Walkers, the Schenns, the Neighbours standing up and biting off more than they should need to chew.

He had same amount of points as Toro and Walker so don't see why anyone would (A female canine animal, especially a dog) about this.

With the three year deal, RJ is going to get regular time. I think he dresses more than I originally thought.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 11:40 amExactly. I've always liked and admired Dingo, but this might just spell the end for him. Him or Johnston would both be a 14th forward imho, so I'd rather have the heavyweight. And I'm not 100% sure it's Walker going, but he seems likely, as I haven't read anything to that effect, but it makes sense he gets waived.
Our fourth line is absolutely massive. Love the direction for the Blues while the rest of the division gets smaller and less physical. Its a direction that does give the team an edge.
Cant see Walker on the NHL club at this point.

The players on the team. It’s been reported on a few occasions that during team end of season meetings it’s something that was asked for.crookedfeeder wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 12:01 pmWho's been asking? $2M x 3 years is more than I was expecting. The AAV is alright but committing to him for 3 years is a little iffy.
It’s not horrible though.

I know that specifically Schenn did a few years ago which leaked out.crookedfeeder wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 12:01 pmWho's been asking? Just curious.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026 11:57 am Blues players have been asking for a player like this for a few years now. Great signing.

I think he was much needed, so yeah im good with it. I’m shocked they went that route but Steener knows how important Reaves was in the room and on the ice when he was here. I wonder if they inquired about Viel but he got a 5 year deal at $2.5mil from Tampa

Walker was never more effective than when the Blues had Faksa. Walker is still important to the team. RJ won't dress every game, but I'll bet he dresses when the Blues play Florida.

Blues may be interested in a 7th defenseman that can replace Tucker. This signing means the Blues will not need Tucker to stick up for teammates. I'd like to see a vet LD that can step in for Lindstein on occasion.

I was good until I saw the three-year part. That’s way too long for a player like this.
