Possible Springfield lineup w/RainRod in it
Just posting a possible lineup with Rodriguez, and another one for when Deniel Ortiz returns from his wrist injury.
LF Honeyman (R)
CF Davis (L)
C Rodriguez (R)
DH Campos (L)
RF Ugueto (R)
1B Adkison (R)
SS Gazdar (R)
3B Harris (R)
2B Mendlinger (L)
When Ortiz returns:
Honeyman
Davis
Rodriguez
1B Ortiz (R)
Campos
Ugueto
Gazdar
Harris
Mendlinger
I think Springfield's season just got a much brighter prognosis, they will be fun to watch again.

Another 200 productive ABs and you could see him in AAA.

Not trying to be a dick, but that’s a very underwhelming lineup. Last season, they had Whetherholt, Baez, & Church. This year has practically everyone who wasn’t worthy of graduation.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 00:18 am Just posting a possible lineup with Rodriguez, and another one for when Deniel Ortiz returns from his wrist injury.

Somehow, the Pitching staff got worse, too. I know we’re early, but no Mautz, Henderson, or even Tekoah Roby, who was great in AA last year. This year looked promising with The Gimmick, The Reach, Molina & Lin. However, the duo has been torched thus far

Agreed. Although, once Ortiz is back, with Campos and Honeyman finding good form, it will have some teeth.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑12 May 2026 07:33 amNot trying to be a dick, but that’s a very underwhelming lineup. It's not out of the question that when summer promotions take place after the draft that Tai Peete and Jalin Flores get promoted to Springfield as well.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 07:37 amAgreed. "Summer promotions" concerning Springfield may be code for "Released" or "Player retired"....Burns, Love and Watson may be promoted.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 May 2026 10:26 amIt's not out of the question that when summer promotions take place after the draft that Tai Peete and Jalin Flores get promoted to Springfield as well.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 07:37 amAgreed. There will be a few of those "retirements" at each level to provide the upward mobility for the performers, and ultimately the newbies at the bottom.craviduce wrote: ↑12 May 2026 10:59 am"Summer promotions" concerning Springfield may be code for "Released" or "Player retired"....Burns, Love and Watson may be promoted.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 May 2026 10:26 amIt's not out of the question that when summer promotions take place after the draft that Tai Peete and Jalin Flores get promoted to Springfield as well.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 07:37 amAgreed. Re: Possible Springfield lineup w/RainRod in it
Unfortunately, no. I tried to find info. on him yesterday, and all I could find was he is out with a wrist injury. Honestly, I thought he would be back, already. I'm getting worried he may be out for a while longer. Unfortunate. Ortiz doesn't get much press, but he had a really good year last year. Fingers crossed!Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑12 May 2026 10:24 amAny word on when Ortiz is supposed to be back?DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 07:37 amAgreed. On a side note, Honeyman, when not injured(which is most of the time, unfortunately), is an absolute on base machine. Who knew!

Re: Possible Springfield lineup w/RainRod in it
Travis Singleman reminds me of Derek Curiel... they prefer contact over power. They'll single you to death, and you're begging for at least more doubles. The difference between the two is that Curiel can go through a Metal Detector and not set it off. Honeyman is put together with nuts and bolts and some very janky welds.
The comparisons are why I don't, and I highly stress "DON'T", want to draft Curiel at #13...the other options are more of what we "should" be looking for.
I like Curiel as a hitter/fielder...but I would prefer more power.

"The difference between the two is that Curiel can go through a Metal Detector and not set it off. It may be that he plays all out, though, so I guess that's the price you pay sometimes. Since I had since written Honeyman off, it's all gravy from here!craviduce wrote: ↑12 May 2026 13:37 pm Travis Singleman reminds me of Derek Curiel... they prefer contact over power. Let's aim higher than Honeyman and Curiel.DewittDaman11 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 14:02 pm"The difference between the two is that Curiel can go through a Metal Detector and not set it off. Roadblocks(Pages & Pozo) would have to be removed from the system first.
