Baez, Rodriguez and Doyle

Post by Shady »

As good as the Cardinals have been in the early season. These three high level prospects could fill some Cardinals' needs. Baez LF. Rodriguez catcher/DH, and Doyle another high end starting pitcher. Wish they were ready now. Then we would be talking a serious contender.

thanks for posting. I'm glad we now know that those 3 can help the Cardinals if they are ready. This had been a very cloudy subject, that no one knew the answer to...you've saved the day.

SMH
There’s usually nothing wrong with his threads
except they are often rhetorical in nature.
I guess he just likes starting threads????
Only problem? When I have responded in the past he rarely
responds back with discussion.
Instead....he starts duplicate/repetitive threads which while harmless are seen as annoying and attention seeking.
Too bad

Of the three, who is likely the closest to being ready to help the Cardinals this season? Probably Baez. Oddly enough, LF is likely the Cardinals biggest need right now. But who knows if Baez will be ready for the bigs this season. That's why, IMO, Nootbaar's return is shaping up to be very important to the Cardinals chances in Central Division race or getting a wildcard birth. By the way, Church would be fine in CF when Nootbaar returns to LF.

As odd as it may sound, if it would help in the long term, I'd be ok with leaving those three in the minors and sacrificing a run this year for sustained, long-term success in the future. I know one shouldn't turn down a shot at the post season, and it would be a tough thing to do, however, if it's better overall, I could accept it. I want a team that is a sustained, long-term contender for the WS. I don't want the "hope we get in and anything can happen" approach any longer.

correct, his threads aren't generally harmful. Sometimes he starts insulting people, but it's just so many repetitive threads over and over that we have to wade through all his threads on page 1 to find anybody else's threads to read

I doubt there is any way we see Doyle or Rodriquez this season.
Baez maybe? But I’m with you....take your time!
And while I’m not saying Noot is a core player for the future....he does need to play if you plan to trade him.

I don't follow Milb prospects that much but man, have we reached the point that we should just write off Quinn Matthews and Tink Hence as failed prospects? They both have horrendous ERAs at AAA this season.

People need to hold their horses on Baez. He’s had one good year out of the 4 years and is doing poorly this year so far with way too much swing and miss.
At this point Church and Fermin are better options.
Hope Baez makes the adjustment soon are he is likely to drop out of top 10 prospects.

Another Groundhog Day for Cards Talk. Thanks Groundhog for all the repetitiveness you bring to the forum! You are certainly a very "Special" creature.

+1 it’s a good thing bloom didn’t skip
Him to the majors like Goldfan others wanted or call him up after he hit a couple of home runs like they wanted it would have been brutal
