Sweden didn't win a game during Euro Qualifying, securing only two draws.

Yet, a strong Nations League performance gets them into the playoff and are now bound for North America.

I'm used to it by now. Italy keeps running out older players and don't learn their lesson - they feel that they deserve to be there without earning it.

Agree. As much as I appreciated Gattuso as a player I don't think he necessarily helped the situation. That being said, they did win 6 out of 8 games in qualifying and without knowing all the intricacies of UEFA qualification it seems like should get you in.

Those six wins came against Estonia, Moldova, and Israel.

The two losses were to Norway who finished first with 24 points and 8 wins.

Agree. As much as I appreciated Gattuso as a player I don't think he necessarily helped the situation.

Gattuso is a legend for stepping up when everybody else abandoned the national team - he's all heart instead of tactics though. He has the players running through walls for him and I definitely think they go to the WC26 if they didn't get a red card.

Shoot outs - I hate them but accept it as part of the game - Italy lost in the 94 WC final, won the 06 WC final, and 2021 Euros because of shoot outs so I have to accept them. With that said I think the last shootout I watched live was Baggio ripping one over the crossbar in 1994 - that ruined me for good.

I hope for a good 26 WC overall - I bought the red and white US jersey weeks ago...it's their best one yet. Go USA!

That was after Donnarumma ripped up Bosnian keepers cheat cheat sheet. Terrible sportsmanship by Donnarumma. In any case Bosnia were smart enough to have a back up copy, Italy wasn’t.

Their first loss in qualifying to Norway did them in. The Inter contingent on the team were still shell-shocked after their champions league demolition.
