Parayko's Trade Value is way down now

Post by a smell of green grass »

I suspect that Parayko's trade value went down quite a bit now that everyone knows that he chose to stay in St Louis versus try to help Buffalo win. Who wants a gladiator that picks an easy walk over a Championship run? None of us know how often this happens in the NHL, but I'm guessing that it's somewhat rare for a player to chose the easy road.

My guess is that the Blues will trade Parayko in the offseason, but the value returned will be far less than what Buffalo offered.

You won't see the Buffalo level package (ever) again; Kekäläinen with a ridiculous overpayment. A guy that was getting all the credit for the Buffalo turnaround and actually did nothing. and IMO it all went to his head.

After watching their defense tonight, Buffalo fans are gonna paint Parayko as a villain for not coming to the Sabres.

My guess is that buffalo fans feel better off without Parayko. Who wants a guy willing to pay 2nd fiddle on a losing team over being on a winning team? Buffalo fans are likely upset mostly that their GM wasted all that time and effort on a loser and didnt go after a real player.

None of us know how often this happens in the NHL, but I'm guessing that it's somewhat rare for a player to [invoke their NTC].
The entire premise is predicated on the assumption that players with NTCs in their contracts would hardly ever dare to actually use said NTC. It’s…beyond stupid.

Agreed. Parayko clearly took less to sign with the Blues, so I have no problem with him exercising the NTC.

bull[shirt] premise. Parayko has a lot of mileage left on him and regularly is at the top of the stats in blocked shots. Favorable contract.

And my message to the Parayko loyalists who are choosing to ignore what just happened....

Armstrong wanted to move ahead with Parayko trade for the good of the Blues. Parayko, said "NO. My needs TRUMP the team needs".

Parayko should not be hated for this decision. Clearly, it was in his contract.

However, I want what is best for the team, and Parayko kicked me in the teeth, and he is well aware that he kicked me in the teeth.

MY DECISION, MY CHOICE is to tell him goodbye to my favor forever. I want players on my team that are loyal to the team and to winning. Parayko is neither.

I would have paid $500 to see that.
I probably would have broken a rib from laughing so hard.

+1000

Schenn took one for the team, and still missed the playoffs...

Bruce Garrioch: The Citizen reported that the Senators kicked tires on Colton Parayko; the asking price is set at a high-end prospect and a 1st - Ottawa Citizen (5/8)

I would contend that it was Parayko or Faulk at the trade deadline, not both. The better result came about in the end.

LoL, Parayko’s value is “way down,” because a playoff team wanted him and was willing to pay the Blues asking price for him.

Maybe people should reflect about our Front Office’s player evaluation and how spot-on they appear to be?
