Don’t You Think Dodgers/Padres Look Old
Good morning.
First thing I noticed in LAD series is the Dodgers looked old. Even Ohtani. Now the SD series, I see the same thing. Old. Especially Tatis.
Then I realized these were heavy old veterans teams. LITTLE youth. I checked, sure enough, in March 2026, they were one two in oldest teams.
And I can see a huge difference in team attitudes. Youth verse old. It’s real.
Heres a new take- maybe youth prevents or recovers quick from injury, verse the old creaking vets.
Am I just too ……

It’s true. We got a lot younger this year. It shows. Long term free agent contracts turn into overpriced aging veterans. I like where we are today.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑10 May 2026 08:52 am Good morning.

Correct. But don’t you agree something seems different. Not only with each team, but a difference between us and each team. The only thing I could come up was, was old. Not maybe a bad thing.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑10 May 2026 10:29 amIt’s true. We got a lot younger this year. It shows. Long term free agent contracts turn into overpriced aging veterans. Interesting….
a board that once would desperately cling to worn out old guys as they strolled through their farewell tours, or chased personal stats…
is now embracing youth…

Me neither. The White Sox were in red jerseys.

Exactly. And the basic WS uni is nice, even a bit intimidating.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑10 May 2026 10:57 amMe neither. The White Sox were in red jerseys.

My research said oldest and second oldest, both over 30. It shows.

As much as I hate the Dodgers I agree. Their (usual) unis are top tier

All I see is Dodgers winning - Division, league, and WS championships.
30 yrs old is old. Right!! Nice one.

I still say they look something different than young swagger. Maybe these oldest teams look - professional -Ha.
I’m not saying old ain’t capable, but I am saying there seems to be a different flare- heavy vet verse no vet.

Just FYI, Tatis Jr. is only 27 years old. TBS, you have to wonder just how many of those $340 million were "injected" into his contract and not a result of overall talent, thus making Padres' future output prediction models based on fraudulent input.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑10 May 2026 08:52 am Good morning.

I'd be livid if I were a Pads fan or front office exec as it appears the chickens are already coming home to roost.
Now watch him 3 home runs against us this afternoon. lol
