I fear this guy might be a bust, but the Kyrou interest there and his pedigree does at least make it interesting. If there was a trade involving Wright and Kyrou, what would the value be exchanging hands? I find it very hard to determine what Wright's trade value might be given production but also his age and former high draft pick and position.

I’d take a chance on Wright but I’d rather work out a deal for Beniers

Re: Shane Wright
I would to, but I don't see them trading berniers. Is a Wright straight up for Kyrou crazy? Would it be better to go after a first and top prospect for kyrou or a trade for nemec?

Kyrou and 15th for Shane Wright and the 6th. Or Kyrou for Beniers straight up.

Seattle has the 7th pick. I like the idea. But would JK waive his no trade to go to Seattle? And is that a fair swap?

Yeah I would pass on Wright and see if a package could be done for Berniers as well. He is really what we need and his age is perfect for this core.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑09 May 2026 16:55 pm I’d take a chance on Wright but I’d rather work out a deal for Beniers

Re: Shane Wright
Be honest, would you even be remotely tempted to do that deal? I think Seattle would be insulted and hang up the phone if they were offered that. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑09 May 2026 17:57 pm Kyrou and 15th for Shane Wright and the 6th. Or Kyrou for Beniers straight up.

Re: Shane Wright
Why? They were rumored to be interested in Kyrou already. They’ve been looking for an impact winger. He’s a 3 time 30 goal scorer who is much better defensively than he gets credit for and Shane Wright scored 44 points in his best season. The picks even out the trade.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑09 May 2026 18:40 pmBe honest, would you even be remotely tempted to do that deal? I ask because I wouldn’t be interested. I would rather draft the stud d available at that spotThe Average Gatsby wrote: ↑09 May 2026 18:50 pmWhy? They were rumored to be interested in Kyrou already. Re: Shane Wright
Maybe. But this thread is about a potential Wright for Kyrou trade. Wright isn’t enough alone for Kyrou so I was throwing out a scenario.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑09 May 2026 19:09 pmI ask because I wouldn’t be interested. Beniers is only 23. Seattle is loaded at center, he might be available or they might move on and he’s exactly what the Blues would be looking for.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑09 May 2026 18:40 pmWhy?Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑09 May 2026 16:55 pm I’d take a chance on Wright but I’d rather work out a deal for Beniers

Re: Shane Wright
Why, because sometimes a change of scenery brings out the best in a player. What did Kyrou put up last season? I am pretty sure I remember you trashing Marner year in and year out. Now, that he is out of that toxic hole-I am pretty sure every team in the league would probably like to have him.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑09 May 2026 18:40 pmWhy?Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑09 May 2026 16:55 pm I’d take a chance on Wright but I’d rather work out a deal for Beniers

Re: Shane Wright
Wright has more value because he is a center, but he is not a #2 center. My problem with his game is he just doesn’t seem to be a playmaker type for being a center. I would rather have Kyrou and see if he gets back to being a perennial 30 goal scorer.

I don't disagree about Kyrou. I am hoping the knee was the outlier. I am fine standing pat and keeping the picks in this draft unless you can fill one of the big holes without overpaying. Sorry, I am a homer.

Re: Shane Wright
Looking at it, I would think it is Wright that has more value, given position, age and pedigree. Now the production has not been there, and Kyrou's has. Even in Kyrou's worst season-last year, he put up more points than Wright ever has to this point. I guess we could hope that Seattle really would want Kyrou and want to get away from Wright. I really was just wondering if anyone else had a good take on judging the value difference between the two.
