No doubt in tonight's nationally televised game, the announcers will feature the JJ Wetherholt 'little league' grand slam single .
The entire nation will remember those plays when they were kids playing at a young age. (When I was 10, the manager always put the weakest fielder in RF (not that Tatis is weak ) but that is where it was most likely to see the outfielder botching a ball hit to him . lol
That pub for JJ makes him more recognized and household name by fans across the country that have seen him limited time . It sure puts him out there when ROY discussions take place as I believe he is leading in WAR for all rookies ? (thought I heard that )
Michael McGreevy should also get some nice pub as not only did he SO 9 in those 6 innings but he had 80 family/friends in attendance at Petco Park.
So that may get mentions too.
We shall see if announcers give Cardinals their early due .

Go Cardinals !
I’m sure they will. I know you probably don’t agree with this but Tatis is the poster child for extending contracts too early. We should learn from that and I know that there are exceptions.
His performance since signing has not been at the level he is getting paid. Last night was about one of the laziest efforts you can see on the missed play. His effort to retrieve the ball was lazy. I could run faster than that.
My point with huge contract, no trade clause, he has the Padres by the short hairs. I know you can’t apply this to all situations but teams have to be very careful.

Tatis is the poster child for why teams should be able to void a long term contract if the player is caught using banned substances.
The reason he’s not producing at his previous levels is that he’s not juicing anymore.

Tatis
Roids
No-Roids
Two different hitters IMO
Stand by, he’ll find a new undetectable concoction soon
(bleep) McGreevy has a good support system if what you said about having 80 people in attendance is true. That's good for him. That seems like a whole section in most ballparks

I forgot about that but his lack of hustle stands out to me. I would have benched him last night. Not for missing the ball but lack of hustle going after it.
