I didn't think it would go this long. I was just bored at work on a Wednesday or whenever.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑08 May 2026 23:53 pmI thought it was funny people trying to convince everyone but but mcgreevy sucks trust me then he throws 6 shut outStrummer Jones wrote: ↑08 May 2026 23:50 pmI should deserve a few thank yous for tonight thenCardinals1964 wrote: ↑08 May 2026 22:58 pmHe must read CT and decided to prove some nitwits wrong.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑08 May 2026 22:55 pmYes. For the record, I like the kid. I have my doubts that he's the ace that he's been this year, but I trust McGreevy more than most of our starters. I realize you can't quantity "pitchability"...and we've definitely been burned there before...but Mike might be the smartest pitcher on the starting staff. He knows who he is, what he does, what he doesn't.
Does it make him an ace? I doubt it. Does it make him a good MLB starting pitcher? It just might.

Re: McGreevy
As I noted, twice:
If McGreevy improves - e.g., makes his K/9 significantly higher - then of course the expectation changes.
His BABIP is still going to normalize, but if he has a 13.5 K/9, that's going to change his ceiling.Barring McGreevy finding a way to strikeout like 50% more guys than he does now,...

Bloom might want to rethink his strategy of hard throwers with high walks.
