Either he’s uncoachable or inept. He swings and misses more than a windmill. Someone needs to get his attention. He doesn’t belong in the middle of the order. I’m tired of him jerking his head around with every swing and fixated for no reason on pulling the ball. Maybe he’s just stupid.
That's not real Christian of you there " Galatians" calling a guy inept and stupid because he had a bad baseball game. Just a little pointer. You make yourself look completely un-knowledgeable about the sport when you are triggered by a bad game and start nasty threads and act like a child about the man's poor performance.
You been living under a rock the last two seasons?
What's your point? I know what Gorman is and it sure doesn't seem he's a unicorn. But I don't think that calls for the hate. Especially considering the op screen name.

Prieto has played more games at 3B than anywhere in his minor league career, so let's at least give him a look.
Why have a minor league system if you don't give people a shot? Crooks, Torres, Prieto vs. Pages/Pozo, VSII and Gorman.
The lineup is too prearranged. It's time for a cool change.
You can make a pretty solid argument that as long as young players keep progressing and Dewitt is willing to hand over the money that every position spot in this team is in good hands long term aside from 3B which imo is a black hole(maybe CF but I think Church is showing a little bit to ease that)
Unless they maybe decide to give RR a look there because of the surplus of catching prospects or someone comes out of nowhere I don’t see how they can go without looking outside the organization. Gorman is just not gonna cut it

The biggest contribution Gorman is going to make to the Cardinals is whatever they can get back for him. In the past 3 seasons (including this one):
This. is. who. he. is. He has only one season with a WAR over 0.7. This season his defense is noticeably better, his batting avg is a little higher, and his strikeouts are down from the mid-30% to 29%. Perhaps someone would take a look at him? Three contenders that need upgrades at 3B who also happen to play in parks very amenable to LHH, the New York Yankees, the Athletics, and the Philadelphia Phillies. IF there is a market for him, they should explore it.
IFFFFF he happens to go on one of those one month streaks, then I would move him in a heart beat, but if he doesn't ... Maybe you could sucker someone, but what would you get back? Not much. The stock answer to every position right now on CT is Torres, buy he is no third baseman. Right now this team has no real heir apparent third baseman in AAA. Pieto and Saggese don't really move the needle. Fermin... nice utility guy, but not your third baseman. Wonder if RR could learn to play third? Who else is in the minors that is an up and coming third baseman? I don't follow our system in detail... JJ could probably play it, but no way am I messing up the chemistry he and Winn are developing up the middle.
IF they move on from Gorman, they will still attempt to fill from within.
The 2 closest are Blaze or JJ. As the thread and you point out finding a 2B is easier
for the Cards than a 3B.
I don't know Blazes range at 3B. When we compare options though, those players aren't
Rolen, he'd replace Gorman which seems adequate thus far this season and what would RR's be? Blaze seems to field
what he does get to, his troubles were in A and AA. He makes contact, period. With Z contact% >80%, 88% the
last 1+ seasons and a K% under 13% since 2024. That alone would be refreshing.

I posted the MLB.com scouting report on his defense on the previous page and here's a more dated report from Baseball America:
"Defensively, he’s seen as a future first baseman or DH who will need to improve his agility and athleticism to contribute in the field. In recognition of that notion, Jordan dropped nearly 20 pounds in the first three months of the offseason."
Fangraphs:
"While sometimes considered a "tweener" (below-average defender for 3B, limited power for a 1B) by some scouts, his ability to consistently make hard contact puts him on the verge of the Major Leagues as a potential corner bench bat or platoon option."

Thanks,
It looks similar to prior notes I've seen.
If 3B becomes fielded by someone other than Gorman as implied by the thread, I think it
more likely to be Jordan or JJ mostly because of who's available soon, by 2027, and because
2B is more readily replaceable.
He is what he is... A Russell Branyan...He will bounce around the league for years and might pop for a season or two where the 25 to 30 homers aren't worth it.

JJ at 3B is a good backup plan and you're right - finding a 2b is much easier. Amazingly, none of the top 30 prospects is a 2b, or legit 3b. https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/cardinals
