Re: Jordan Walker last 12 games
I was impressed when he crushed that low ground ball/ liner into the LF gap and was thinking double out of the box. He doesn't always have to hit homers to be really effective. He has taken some OPPO singles to knock in runs in this stretch too. His D is better and he also is throwing to the cut off man and right base almost always now. Teams are not running on his arm much. All good signs.
Agree with Talkin' that this is a completely different team with Walker playing at this level. Also we have a real lead off hitter who is a very good defensive second baseman.

Might just be that guy.
Most encouraging sign is how he bounces back from a bad strikeout way quicker now, often within same game.

We all thought this kid was toast and he’s making us all pay for it. And I for one couldn’t be happier
He also has a mini slump earlier on he’s busted out of which means he’s making adjustments.
Him Herrera and JJ could be something special. Sprinkle that in with Burly, Baez, Rodriguez and Winn(just to name a few) and the future of this lineup is looking fantastic

This is what happens when a stud is added to middle of order……..it doesn’t take 5-6yrs of Rebuilding….a couple more productive MLB players and we’re good to go. And they’re probably down on the farm nowTalkin' Baseball wrote: ↑08 May 2026 15:01 pm The biggest story for the Cardinals this season. It's transformational.

What I've noticed lately is his ability to actually check his swing. It didn't used to exist. It's huge.

Our lineup is noticeably longer this season. If Baez is who we think he is, and he is added next season, you could start him out hitting 6th or 7th- longer again. Then Rodriguez instead of Pages, Tai Peete instead of Scott.... This is lining up well.
We won't make the playoffs this year, but this is a lot more fun and interesting than anything happening for the Cardinals in quite awhile. If this is the bottom- that's great!

Whomever is responsible for JW offense and defense transformation should be given a nice pay raise. Also congrats to Mr Walker - he could have just given up. Mental aspect of MLB is huge - some never get it.
GO JW and Cards.

What do you think it takes to see attendance grow?Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑08 May 2026 15:30 pm Our lineup is noticeably longer this season. I never thought the kid was toast. I always thought we promoted him way too soon. The brain needed time to mature. It has and we are gonna love what we see from Jordan for some time to come. Now we need to extend him.

I like that he's using his speed more. The hustle double yesterday was good to see. Also has 7 steals (1 caught) on the season

As Oli pointed out teams adjusted pitching after his hot start. He has adjusted to their adjustments. I’m sure hitting coaches have helped him transition.

Time, and more of everything they are already doing. It's a more interesting and exciting team. Of course, winning helps. St Louis fans are smart. They see and appreciate the player development taking place, the diligence the front office shows, and the messaging that is not of the same condescending nature. All of that helps. I actually think the final attendance figures this year will be better than last year. After the CBA is completed, I believe spending will improve and that will help. We all love spring training and the boys of summer, but St Louis craves October baseball. That will grow attendance like nothing else will.2ninr wrote: ↑08 May 2026 15:36 pmWhat do you think it takes to see attendance grow?Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑08 May 2026 15:30 pm Our lineup is noticeably longer this season. It truly is a game changer. If Walker is a 1.000 OPS guy that we can stick in the cleanup spot and get this consistent play, he’s what this team has needed. Now let’s hope Baez is everything we hope he is and we will have taken great strides in fixing the offense. We could live with Church/VS2 in center. What’s left for the offense?? Finding a productive 3B, which is by the way for whatever reason, the toughest position in baseball right now.

Re: Jordan Walker last 12 games
His transformation is fantastic. Walker decided he needed to do something; Drive Line seems to have helped Walker with his adjustments; Brown, Allen, and Chenoweth have been mentioned as influencing the changes; Walker continues to adjust to the pitchers. That is a recipe for success.
