Barring an injury in the OF? July...probably All-Star break. If VS2 is still struggling, then you send VS2 down, and promote Torres. Under no circumstances can you field a team with 3 Redundant Players like VS2, Church and Torres...quick, LH, CF types...especially since Noot will be back....that would be 4 LH OF...not going to happen.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑08 May 2026 00:10 amWhat do you think about him getting a chance in the majors?
Torres isn't in our future, imo...not with the draft coming up where there's a high chance we draft a CF of some type early on. And he can be traded this fall

I don't see them as redundant. I think we could use Torres' bat. Our production runs aground after Church. I'd like both Torres and Crooks to come up.craviduce wrote: ↑08 May 2026 00:14 amBarring an injury in the OF? July...probably All-Star break. I don't mind Crooks coming up...but he would Need to play catcher...and I don't see them removing Pages or Herrera at this time.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑08 May 2026 00:25 amI don't see them as redundant. It's a messed up situation, tbh. Now if the starting staff was performing poorly, I'd see no issue cutting ties with Pages...whether trade, demotion, etc...but he's manning a pretty impressive pitching staff...who can't strikeout anyone....so that's says something about Pages behind the plate. The defense up the middle is a big credit, but so is Pages...I think, I could be wrong on that. I'm sure there's some metric out there that says Purple is Green and I'm way off base...but I think Pages stays for now. And the team needs/wants Herrera's bat in the lineup, so he gets the 2/5 catching duties each week.

Really excited about Fajardo as long as no arm injuries - think he has the chance to be a stud.
I know I am just speaking, but I truly don't see the harm in bringing up Torres at some point. We know he probably does not have much power and we have Scott that is a light hitting outfielder. However, at some point, if Scott II does not get above the mendoza line, what is the purpose of him being here? I like Scott and want him to succeed, but you never know if you may find a diamond in the rough. Heck, Pham was a late bloomer, Ludwick took a while to put it together., and even Riley O'Brien due to injuries, etc. has started to put it together. I do know that Torres does not strike out much and let's say he is like a semi-speedy version of Luis Arraez - not much power (probably strikes out more than Luis) but has more versatility and speed, you can either keep him due to cheap contract and plug him at 9 hole without liability or flip him for younger pieces. However, he has earned the right to get a callup. If Scott was doing even just solid or outside of Walker, our outfield was tearing it up, I would say otherwise, but I hate we just keep him on the 40 man without trying - he has always hit well in the minors (Scott struggled at Memphis too), etc.
