Church is just overmatched....everything in the zone...can't get the ball to the OF, or the right side of diamond

He tried to bunt yesterday and got hbp
That why I said he needs to learn how. 😂
You are bunting a pitch that hits you in the foot? Interesting

Church has two bunt hits this season while playing less than full time. Historically he would lead baseball in bunt hits at his current rate. You want him bunting even more than that? Interesting

Bunt hits each year (top 3):
2021: 7, 7, 6
2022: 10, 9, 9
2023: 17, 11, 7
2024: 11, 10, 9
2025: 11, 9, 9

Church 2026: 2 in 111 PA's --> 11.7 in 650 PA's

Being first or second in the entire league in bunt hits would be great. But I guess he still "needs to learn how" 😂
DID YOU SEE WHERE THEY WERE PLAYING HIM?
The third baseman was at Shortstop. Get it now?

But but but he had 2 bunt hits this year and almost broke his ankle on one attempt.

I’m not understanding what the Cardinals are doing with Gorman. We all understand the idea of giving the young guys a chance to play but how are we helping Gorman.

Teams aren’t even hiding how they are going to pitch him but it doesn’t make any difference. Change up after change up. They throw the fastball out of the zone hoping he is so hungry for one he will chase, then pound him with change ups. He can’t hit them and he can’t lay off of them. He’s a constant swing and miss. He’s helpless against them.

Well, that was a tough at bat for Church. He just had to cut down on his swing and put the ball in play there, and he didn’t. That’s too much of the story for this day and age of Baseball. He allowed himself to be overmatched. However, Pages and Scott are overmatched in nearly every at bat. What a black hole in the Cardinals lineup.

I wonder how the Padres landed on a career relief pitcher to be their manager?

Nice I thought he was clearly safe then on the replay when they paused it was by their definition too close to overturn so good call
