Who would you rather have
If you can only have one of the two of Jason Robertson or William Nylander
Which of the tour are you making the trade for? Considering that both will be paid around the same. I would almost rather have Nelander because he would be the perfect compliment to Dvorsky on the second line.
What would it take?

For
Nylander
Joseph Woll
And Brandon Carlo (1 year remaining)
Would you?
Hollowell/Thomas/Snuggerud
Buchnevich/Dvorsky/Nylander
Carbonneau/Suter/Stenberg

Re: Who would you rather have
Nylander is 30 years old, not making that deal for Neighbours and Jiricek let alone the two picks.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑07 May 2026 13:36 pm If you can only have one of the two of Jason Robertson or William Nylander

That’s fair. Age is a factor with Nylander going forward.Walter Sobchak00 wrote: ↑07 May 2026 14:14 pmNylander is 30 years old, not making that deal for Neighbours and Jiricek let alone the two picks.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑07 May 2026 13:36 pm If you can only have one of the two of Jason Robertson or William Nylander

Re: Who would you rather have
Both are good producers. But are they meaningful producers, or just empty calories? Neither has led their team very far in the playoffs, and at least in Nylander's case there are plenty of detractors who say he's part of the problem in Toronto (less familiar with the rumors around Robertson).
If we're going to trade futures for current younger veterans to accelerate the build, I want proven winners (who aren't available). I want guys who:
1. Play their best hockey when it matters,
2. Drag their teammates into the battle, and
3. Make their linemates better.
That's asking a LOT, which is why I'd rather just build through the draft while hoping for another swing at trading for someone like a Matthew Tkachuk, who only comes available every few years.
IMO, of all the rumored "possibly available guys", only Brady comes close to what I want. And I really don't want Brady (IMO, I think if his last name were Smith, he wouldn't have half the reputation he has).
If I HAD to pick between Robertson and Nylander, I'd go with the younger Robertson, as he may still have a little runway to develop into a better playoff performer.

That's not how a typo works. You very obviously thought that was the expression. Glad I could help you.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑07 May 2026 15:13 pmYou actually think I’d entertain you about a 3 day old typo?sdaltons wrote: ↑07 May 2026 14:28 pmYou actually still don't get it?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑07 May 2026 14:13 pmSame. I did too.
It’s pretty funny for a typo.
