Baez is off to a good start today

Post by Shady »

His hit raised the BA to .252. It would be nice, In the next month or so, for him to get the BA up to around .275/.280 with around 12 HRs. Ledbetter with a two run double. That's encouraging.

Torres with his 8th HR. He has a .348 BA and a .972 OPS. Yes, he could probably help the Cardinals.

2 is the new 8

or is it

8 is the new 2?

that's his 2nd HR.

I don't always respond, but I enjoy these posts with updates on our minor league guys. Saves me a lot of searching elsewhere. Thanks.

I realize many CT posters have an affinity for being negative. But, any so-called Cardinals fan that isn't excited about the possibility of adding this young power/speed combo to a position of need is simply "out to lunch".

who's not excited? You jumped on our bandwagon. Trying play it off as You against Us....does making 2 Baez threads within an hour of each other make you the authority on Baez? Weren't you misspelling Baez as "Biaz" a few months ago?

You need some ruffage in your diet...so full of poop

Something to note. Baez is playing centerfield in both games today.

This fella, “Don’t write posts about him, he’s not ready to hit a baseball”
7HR 20RBI 6SB. 250 .336 .836

This fella “He’s our starting CF and the team has no other options”. The next Vince Coleman has as many SB as The Man Who Is Not Named
1HR 5RBI 6SB…189, .253, .487

One might have to wonder if some CT posters want to WIN and have Good players……because they spend most of their login time shouting down those who do want to win and have good players in STL

Just curious, How is he defensively?
Arm? Does he cover a lot of ground? etc.

arm is slightly above average, not as good as Church. He covers a good portion of ground for a big guy. So...I give him a 50/80 on defense. Being that big, age will drop that to a 45, then 40... that's why he's described as a Corner OF.

50 is average grade...

So he should suffice in LF

yeah...and for a year or two he can man CF some. I wouldn't expect miracles from him in CF, but he's not going to embarrass himself...I don't think. If I have better options in CF, I'd use them, and move Baez to LF or RF....w/e. I don't really care who plays RF or LF...Walker's arm is a canon, so...probably he gets RF

"One might have to wonder if some CT posters want to WIN and have Good players……because they spend most of their login time shouting down those who do want to win and have good players in STL". Bingo, Goldfan. The negativity is rampant on Cards Talk toward Cardinals baseball and posters that try to be positive.
