Springfield played without four of their forwards last night. They may need a good scoring forward in there for a while. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear Carbonneau get assigned to them today.
Will they actually play in games though? Hard to say. The T-birds already have around 10 d-men on the roster so it may be hard for Jiricek to crack the lineup but maybe. He’d likely need the T-birds to go on a nice playoff run to give him enough practices to get up to speed on their system…and of course he’d have to show he’d likely be a better option than any of the 6 they’re currently playing and who are currently doing well. Or maybe one or more of those 6 gets injured and that opens up an opportunity for him.
Pretty much the same story with Carbs (assuming they send him there which I bet they will) but he’d likely have more of an opportunity to get into the lineup as the T-birds forward core is much more decimated by injuries than their defense currently. They had 2 AHL/ECHL scrubs slot in on their 4th line last night.

That comment wasn't directed at you. I honestly didn't read your comment above the reply that I posted too. I was just generalizing that people want to move on because a player is getting "old" in the prospect pool. Dean probably has a role in the NHL, whether it's with the Blues or another team. I'm sure he is able to carve something out for at least a minute assuming he's able to stay available.somni wrote: ↑06 May 2026 10:46 amHahaha. I used to have the moniker, northwest dave. I like their PBP guy. He is totally into the play and doesn’t seem to need a color man. With some seasoning (he sounds like he is under 30) he will sprinkle some more Old School texture into his , already fine, presentation.
Rosen looks fantastic.
Romanov mouthing “No, no” as hockey Jedi noted, during the review is classic and calm netminder gold. He looks like he has the disposition and the talent.
I wonder if the review only focused on the puck going in off a skate. If it were for the offsides they missed, they might still be playing.
CIWYW is dead on again. Dean missed most all of the previous season and came on like gang busters for the last 4-5 games and was slotted for chance to make the roster. I bet he works his Maritime behind off this summer as he pushes for another chance in the NHL.
Somni, I don’t think anyone seriously thinks you are bored. Even though your name is a root term for sleep….

I'm excited to camp next year. It should be good one.

I agree with your assessment. Excited to see how camp turns out. Lots of options are starting to appear.

Newpower got leveled too but he remained in the game. They will get Jiricek in there as soon as they can is my guess i am not sure of his visa status, was that worked out already? Id be shocked if either kid played tomorrow, Saturday at the earliest if at all is my guess. Definitely the next round if Spr makes itiowa blues fan wrote: ↑06 May 2026 10:52 amSpringfield played without four of their forwards last night. And there he is, so stoked! I really think Blues fans are underestimating what they have in Jiricek. Does he play tomorrow?

My feeling from watching Jiricek at the WJs and a handful of OHL games is, hes one of the very best dmen in his age group he has high end offensive talent and seemed to play very well in his own end for Czechia. He will probably need some seasoning to adapt to the speed of the NHL game esp in his own end, may need to be sheltered. I may disagree with other posters i think AJs ceiling is very highHarry York 37 wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:19 pmIn spite of the relentless trolls and curmudgeons, he is All World for his age- wherever he has played so far….Harry S Deals wrote: ↑06 May 2026 11:59 am https://x.com/ThunderbirdsAHL/status/20 ... 16728?s=20

Jiříček has the vision to identify the right play at pace and even the ability to deceive and manipulate opponents from the blue line to create those openings himself. And his touch as a passer? Beyond reproach. He can feather a puck through traffic with the best of them
