I realize it is a superiority contest here with many posters. And believe or not, that's not my thing. But one thing is for sure. I saw and expressed Burleson's futuire success long before anyone else did on Cards Talk. And I am proud of it.

You definitely were the first (and still only) poster to say that Burleson was “the next Tony Gwynn,” “the next Joey Votto,” “a fine fielder,” and “an Edman-type player with good speed.”

I remember that guy! Didn’t we eventually determine somehow he passed away?bccardsfan wrote: ↑06 May 2026 07:57 amIf you've been around here for a decade or so, you'll remember a guy called Captain major. He always had to have three or four threads on the front page. Of course no content either. Same old story

Along w/Saggese..................NOPETalkin' Baseball wrote: ↑05 May 2026 17:17 pm And so it begins. Honest question- does anyone here think Prieto has a future in St Louis? He might be useful somewhere, and we should discover where that somewhere is.
Both are throw-ins to any trades C. Bloom makes mid season or in the off season.

I think that was the case, but not certain. As I recall, the Capt. would get very confused at the end and forget which forum he was posting in. He obviously was exhibiting the same behavior in current events or some other forum(s). It was pretty sad as I recall. I don't think he did the sock puppet thing like others. Always amusing when the sock puppets talk to each other and all of us know. Pretty pathetic. We have had some very entertaining trolls here who were harmless and didn't clog up the front page. Margie/WCBW was always my peronal favorite. I miss him/her/them/it... Always good for a laugh. I wish we had access to archives. The Descalso post right before the playoffs was a gem... Of course who can forget Troell and his various meltdowns:) So many trolls... now we have the narcissist.....but he is not as entertaining as Margie...WeeVikes wrote: ↑06 May 2026 08:57 amI remember that guy! I notice that many talk about racist sock accounts etc.
I have no knowledge of that but disturbing.

One of our current trolls loved to pick racist scum names. Google Wally Butterworth. Only sick people would choose that as a handle:(Cusecards wrote: ↑06 May 2026 09:31 amThis is only my 4th season.bccardsfan wrote: ↑06 May 2026 07:57 amIf you've been around here for a decade or so, you'll remember a guy called Captain major. I have been accused of that. And It is a ludicrous accusation. This is one of the reasons I determined it is senseless to interact with posters that are so out of touch and fantasy-driven. Goofballs, if you will. Especially, the ones that get personal. The "Add foe" feature is wonderful.bccardsfan wrote: ↑06 May 2026 09:39 amOne of our current trolls loved to pick racist scum names. Re: Prieto has been a very productive minor league hitter for quite a while
You saw Burleson as a starting caliber player worth keeping when many saw him as a bench piece or trade bait at best. I will give you that. BUT, are you being honest with yourself about how accurate you actually were? I seem to remember you predicting him as way better than a 20 homerun, .280 hitter with an .800 OPS.
